Very pleasantly surprised at my first interaction with the claims process with yellow jersey . The process was clear, transparent and easy to follow. The assessor was genuinely understanding of how upsetting aggressive bike theft can be. The assessment process was efficient vigourous, and covered all bases. it was conducted in a timely fashion with assessment completed and settlement mutually agreed within a couple of days. If all insurance companies operated with the same efficiency and the same level of customer first approach of yellow jersey, I’m sure customers would feel much better when claiming in what are usually already quite upsetting a stressful circumstances.

Straight forward, simple process. Provided all the requested information in regards to my claim and was made aware very soon after that my insurance claim payment was on its way to my account.

It's never nice having a bike stolen, but Kien made the whole claims process clear, efficient and professional. He set out exactly what he needed from me, kept me updated while he checked with the building's insurer, and put together a settlement that was fair and easy to understand. From reporting the theft to accepting the payout took less than two weeks. I'm thoroughly impressed with the service and will be staying with Yellow Jersey for my new bike.

Paid out for a marathon I had to drop out of due to medical advice. Kept 10% of the fee, so ended up getting 75% overall back from the total I actually paid for the entrance, but it was a very quick and easy process to get the claim approved.

Impossible to make a claim. Don't touch them.

Regrettably had a bike accident during a major race and ended up in hospital.

Two months on a repeated chaser emails later and absolutely nothing from Yellow Jersey. All they do is refer you to their third part claims handling company who do not respond to anything.

Avoid Yellow jersey if you actually need to make a claim. They are excellent at taking your money but very poor if you want some of it back.

DO NOT USE YELLOW JERSEY FOR YOUR TRIP INSURANCE. You have been warned!! This company are just a sales front selling other companies policies. The company they use are Gallagher Bassett. Please read the reviews of this company. They are beyond bad... Uncontactable by phone or email. so when things don't go well trying to contact Gallagher, you try to ring the company that sold you the policy, Yellow Jersey. They don't give two hoots now. They have had your premium made their cut. Yes, they offered to reach out for me to Gallagher to get them to contact me but apparently once they take your money the issue isn't their issue anymore (it is in the policy wording), they will keep telling you, until you hang up.

I repeat DO NOT USE THESE FOR YOUR EXPENSIVE BIKING HOLIDAYS!!! You are mad if you do. Find another company that uses a reputable, household name insurer and make sure you can contact them before purchasing the insurance.

Further to my original issues. The claims handler then tells me that the £100 family excess (£60 for an individual) as per Yellow Jersey policy actually applies to every family member on the policy. Yellow Jersey Policy information states and reads as £100 per family.

I argue this detail and she comes back to tell me it's per family member up to £200. Honestly I have never heard so much rubbish. Look at how YJ advertise their policy. I would have been better off taking out three individual policies in that case. (3 in my family)

I am still £100 short on what I am owed because of this but they have said after a lot of arguing and they still won't admit they are wrong. Which they are. That they will give me the other £100 back in good will lol...lol...lol. Still not had it.

There is no good will here just blatant lies and miss-selling.

Insurance easily arranged at a great price point. Unfortunately, I had an accident and had to use the insurance - having my helicopter evac and treatment covered was simple and hassle free. Just as it should be. Very impressed. Thank you Yellow Jersey and Helix Insurabce.

I was unlucky enough to have my e-MTB stolen in London, but from the moment I filed the claim, Yellow Jersey were outstanding.

Kien took ownership straight away and went above and beyond to keep things moving. Communication was clear, calm, and proactive, and the whole process was surprisingly quick. They sourced a replacement bike extremely fast (within a couple of days) and even held it safely at their office until I returned from a trip, which really helped.

They also replaced my lock quickly once everything was approved, and when I collected the bike, Jonathan and the team were genuinely great friendly, professional, and they helped me get set up properly (including fitting pedals and setting the suspension sag for my weight).

Overall, a stressful situation was handled in the best possible way. Very pleased with the service and I’d strongly recommend Yellow Jersey.

I have always been pleased with your service and the manner in which you settle claims so promptly. I very much hope I do not have to claim again, it’s not fun coming off the bike, but thankfully I know you are there if I do.

The Yellow Jersey Claims team have been exceptionally patient and helpful with my complicated claim for my pothole damaged and discontinued Zipp wheels. Their technical knowledge helped us reach an informed and equitable conclusion and, with the explosion in bots, it was refreshing to experience a personal service.

Great service and contact, and the response time was really quick. Due diligence to understand the situation was done but team was really great in not asking too much as many insurances do.

Having had my bike stolen I feared that with most insurance claims, this would be a horrendously drawn out process. Very happy to say that it was quite the opposite. It was all handled quickly and efficiently, and got me back on the road in no time!!

I have found Yellow Jersey to be a great insurer. I have had the misfortune of needing to make claims for serious damage to a bike and more recently a theft. All handled swiftly with great communication with named members of the claims team. I get the real sense that they are genuinely interested in making fair decisions (rather than trying to minimise payouts). Both claims were settled to my satisfaction and I was able to get back on the road without too much delay. Prices seems competitive and they offer reductions for loyal customers (even one who has had to make multiple claims)

I have tried to claim under my policy twice, both, based on the policy wording should be covered.

I had 1 missed departure due to motorway incident & another for flight delays caused by Heathrow computer problems making me lose money on transport and accommodation.

I don't believe this is YJ themselves to blame, they use an underwriter called Gallagher Bassett who go out of their way to ask for evidence items that are almost impossible to produce. They also take months to respond to any queries and their portal is nearly always broken in some way.

Avoid their travel insurance, not worth the paper it's written on unfortunately.

I have insured my bikes with Yellow Jersey for 5 yrs. Don’t anymore. I had accidental cover on accessories, garmin& radar. The wording YJ use is misleading/ & should be re written in relation to the above. They would not pay out for a radar lost unless the bike was proven to be damaged. Ridiculous. The bike and accessories and separate parts of the bike.
You can come off a bike and no damage is possible!!!!
Also they are not competitive compared with others. Would not recommend to others.

I would have given 0 stars if possible. DO NOT BELIEVE THE OVER POSITIVE GLOWING REVIEWS. My only guess is these people have never made a claim. Having just had a serious spinal injury mountain biking I would never use this service again. Fact my total costs came to less than 1K. The payout I received was about £50 more than my insurance cost and excess. Yep you got that right. Thank God I had no serious hospital bills.

Do your research, YELLOW JERSEY DO NOT HANDLE CLAIMS. They use an underwriter named Gallagher Bassett. Gallagher Bassett then use a smaller company they own company called Claims Settlement Agencies Ltd. Does it all sound a little murky. Yep that's right. Expect stalling to get an answer, weeks of no communication, lots of paperwork to file and a call line that never gets answered. Check out the feedback

That's the company you'll be dealing with. Like everything else falling apart in the UK this is just another service that'll come up short and never deliver. Save your hard earned money and look elsewhere.
