Like many people I was initially dubious about whether to bother with a claim, but Yellow Jersey staff were helpful, from my initial phone call to check about what health documents were needed through to information about when to expect payment to arrive - communication was quick, friendly, kind and supportive throughout, and I was pleasantly surprised how quickly my claim was settled once it was in process. Thank you Connor especially.

Very poor. Have been with them over a year. Policy auto renewed which was fine as felt reassured having the insurance in place. Not claimed once on the policy. However, after 15 months I no longer need the insurance as no longer have that bike. Phoned to cancel policy as can’t do that as an amendment online. Was informed I can’t cancel the policy and it will still run for the remaining of this year and will only be cancelled then if request this in writing.I was informed there is a 14 day cooling off period during which you can cancel the policy either when initially set it up or from auto renewed date but then can’t cancel until end of 12 months term. Have amended policy to lowest rate of cover of £250 from the £6000 was previously covered for for over a year but am still paying for £250 cover for a bike I don’t have?!.? Not sure where that fits with the FCS and am considering contacting the Financial Services Ombudsman for advice. Please be aware of this before consider policy with Yellow Jersey as I was not aware of this until now.

Would not recommend, go elsewhere!
I had only ever used yellow jersey for all of my bikes and only realised how poor they are when I crashed! I had the premium insurance on my BMC SLR_01.
I was in a bad crash which left my bike unrideable and tried to start my claim process to which I was told I will have to send my bike off for a carbon check that could last 8 weeks. I explained I have multiple trips abroad coming up and a lot of racing that this would be unworkable and they gave me the option of a £35 a day hire up to £500 (would last about 10 days and nowhere near the spec of my current bike). This isn't what you would expect from a bicycle insurance company, I had insurance so that situations like these could be sorted, not to be left without a bike to train or race on for 2 months.

Disappointed!

Jonathan at Yellow Jersey has always been very helpful, responsive, quick-to-act each time when I filed a claim.

Granted, there was one time when the claim was unsuccessful (which was due to mechanical issues) but the other times that were from accidents, Jonathan was quick to send out the replacement parts.

Kien from Yellow Jersey has been fantastic throughout the duration of going through an accidental damage claim and I am incredibly happy with the outcome. He was prompt in his responses and very understanding all throughout the process even though I took a bit longer to get everything finalised for him. His professional but empathetic approach is the reason we have been with Yellow Jersey for many years and will be staying with them.

Unfortunately had to make a claim after coming off my bike! These guys were amazing the whole process was easy my case manager Jonathan was quick to respond and sorted everything for me! They even offered and I accepted ungraded components for a small additional cost!! Fantastic service and comprehensive cover (I have the ultimate cover) will continue use and recommend! Thanks guys

Generally, you only know if an insurance company is worth their salt when you have to make a claim. Yellow Jersey is a little different. I knew right from the start that they were going to be a good company. When you take out a policy with them you get a "DNA" security coding kit to forensically mark your bike(s) so they can be traced back to you if you are ever in the unfortunate position of having them stolen. They also send out regular newsletters giving useful tips, reviews, and suggestions on cycle holiday destinations etc. Having been a Yellow Jersey customer for several years, I was recently in the unfortunate position of having to make a claim following an accident overseas. The service I received from Jonathan and the rest of the claims team was truly excellent. The claim was handled very quickly and professionally. I would highly recommend them to anyone considering taking out a cycle insurance policy.

Easy communications, and Connor followed up proactively when I forgot to provide bank details. Claim was straightforward.

I have only good things to say about Jonathan and the service i received from Yellow Jersey after having a serious crash on my bike which was damaged beyond repair. Jonathan was extremely helpful throughout the whole process, keeping me updated and sorting out the best replacement bike. I will always recommend yellow jersey to friends and anyone looking for a high quality bike insurer

Emails answered quickly and the claim dealt with efficiently. Claim dealt with in full despite problems which I couldn't foresee arising weeks earlier.

Unfortunately I was no longer able to take part in my local marathon after testing positive for Covid and not feeling very well. Luckily I had opted in for yellow jersey insurance. I put in a claim to see if I could get a refund of my entry fee. After I had filled in my claim form I received an e-mail from Connor Peters, he was very helpful and prompt in his response. I have been happy and impressed with how quick the service was and for my claim to be accepted.

I recently submitted a claim to Yellow Jersey for a race cancellation fee. This was owing to an injury and being outside of IRONMAN's refund policy. The clarity and efficiency of the communication from Connor and Jonathan was exceptional and they agreed to cover my claim in accordance with all relevant documentation submitted and the Yellow Jersey Policy wording.

I honestly can't ask for anything more. Given the disappointment of having to cancel the race and trip to Marbella in the first place, as well as dealing with a painful injury, it's a noteworthy consolation to know my insurance honestly have me covered!

I contacted Yellow Jersey due to being unable to race and part of my insurance was race cancellation cover.
From start to finish Connor Peters was very easy to deal with. Let me know what I needed to do and processed it all very quickly.
With other insurers it feels like they will try and do everything they can to wriggle out when it comes to paying out, but this was great.

Connor is top man - very helpful, personal assistance.

Quick and easy claim process, fast email responses (within 48 hours), and effective claim management

Yellow jersey put other insurance companies to shame by the simplicity and speed of the claims process.

I've made two claims with yellow jersey - one for my race bike and second for my commuter bike - and I cannot fault them for their help.

Making a claim is made super simple by filling out a short form and sending over a few key details. Their claims specialist that helped me (Sean and Connor on each occasion, respectively) were in contact in a few days and after a few emails, had done all the hard feast in organising and sending out all the replacement parts required for my commuter bike. I couldn't have been more impressed in Connor for organising that despite me not providing all the specific details of broken parts.

I was equally impressed with the repair process for my race bike which sustained two deep cuts into the carbon frame. After a simple process for the bike to be collected and checked out by their repair specialists. Yellow jersey organised the repairs which resulted in a frame looking so good, you cannot spot where the damage on the bike was. Incredible.

The whole process was easy, fast, efficient and very transparent.

I really can't recommend yellow jersey enough.
