CookieScript is a great solution for GDPR banner. I implemented using Google Tag manager, it was very simple.

We are using CookieScript as our Consent Management Platform and overall we are very satisfied.

What I really like:
1. The UI is very clear and well structured. It makes it easy to understand what is GDPR-compliant for us in Germany and what is not. That clarity is extremely helpful.

2. Integration is simple, basically just one script, and the customization options are incredibly powerful. The cookie banner can be adapted in detail to match our design and requirements.

3. A big plus for us: the banner supports JavaScript events. Since we run a SPA, this allows us to switch the banner language dynamically when the website language changes. That works beautifully.

What could be improved (from a German compliance perspective):

In Germany, tools like Google Analytics must not communicate at all before explicit user consent is given. We had to implement a small additional JavaScript logic to ensure that GA4 does not load or send data before consent. It was easier than expected, but it would be great if this behavior were even more strictly enforced by default for highly regulated markets like Germany.

Overall, a very flexible and developer-friendly CMP that we can recommend especially if you want strong customization and clean integration.
