Ecover has gone from good laundry liquid to now the most awful smell I cannot get out of my laundry. Preferred the originals years ago. Double rinsed with lemon juice just to get the luring stink out but it still lingers..very odd smell. Avoid Ecover. Tried a supermarket own brand kne, much better, not harsh and cruelty free. And free from this weird odour.

This is very bad, how eveb this is allowed to use such clever name and poison people. After using this detergent and hanging washing outside, I immediately started having itchy nosy, runny nose, eyes started itching. I didn’t realize until I brought the washing inside and started folding them how my condition got worse, still couldn’t believe it could be from that. All night I couldn’t sleep because of my blocked nose, my lungs are irritated all night coughing even though I don’t suffer with any allergy or cold.now I decided to read the reviews! People stay away from this product if you don’t want problems with ur health. Someone allergic could probably die from this. As i have never felt so horrible and sleepless night because of this detergent. Its soread everywhere. I need to wash all my clothes again to wash off this poison!

I purchased the ecover zero laundry liquid as I am super sensitive to smells. This has a very strong chemical smell which made my eyes sore & watery & made my throat sore. No amount of extra rinses in the machine will get rid of the smell. My skin has also not stopped itching since using it. Will definitely not be using it again. It has made my clothes & skin even worse

Washing detergent contains Bentonite clay.

Bentonite clay is an exceptionally sticky clay. Which sticks to the inside of your washing machine and causes waste pipes to become blocked up. Their dishwashing machine tablets also contains Bentonite, which clogs up your diswasher, too.

These products are the most easily found eco products around in London, UK. But they simply don't perform well, which is a big pity.

Toilet cleaner doesn't work at all, and you'll just get a stained toilet (which landlords won't tolerate). Laundry detergent is so so. Washing up liquid is passable, but packaging design is dumb, and slips out of any wet hand while doing dishes. I really want to help our planet, but Ecover's not-so-cheap offer is really not a solution, sadly.

I'm now using citric acid for the loo, vinegar, bicarb and other old fashioned options for household. Smol also does very effective tabs for laundry and the dishwasher.

Früher war das Ecover richtig gut & roch fein. Irgendwie haben die wohl im Laufe des Jahres die Rezeptur gewechselt und nun riechen bei uns beide Flüssigwaschmittel ganz komisch nach Erbrochenem. Ein sehr seltsamer Geruch. Habe schweren Herzen wieder auf ein nicht Öko-Produkt gewechselt, da die Wäsche schon sauber riechen sollte. Vorher war es jahrelang unser liebstes Waschmittel.

Das Waschmittel hat seine Eigenheiten: Für 40° dosiere ich immer, bei mir hartes Wasser, mittel verschmutzt. Bei höheren Temperaturen entwickelt es mehr Schaum. Dann nehme ich Calgon und für Handtücher leicht verschmutzt - das Waschergebnis ist zufriedenstellend aber wir müssen alle die Umwelt schonen.

The washing up liquid is now very watered down. When I use the laundry detergent and fabric softener, my clothes don't smell fresh or clean. I won't be buying again.

Ecover bio laundry detergent honeysuckle and jasmine - smells lovely in the bottle and straight out of the machine. But once dry the laundry doesn't smell fresh, as if it hadn't been dried quickly enough - and it has. I now notice that the whites are not white, and dirt marks haven't gone. I bought this because I liked the old formula that my mother used, but I won't be buying this again. What a shame.

Het gaat mis als je als klant ecover probeert te bellen. Bandje aan de telefoon daarna wordt de lijn verbroken zowel in nederlland als in België. Waarom als je z'n goed product verkoopt ??????

I’ve started getting itching skin. Especially around my neck and arms. I’m sure I started getting it when I started using these products.

ECOVER flüssig-Geruch "Wasserlilie"- angebrochene Flasche, aber fest verschlossen hat nach 1/2 Jahr angefangen bestialisch zu stinken. Leider habe ich nicht vor dem Waschen daran gerochen, normalerweise kann doch ein Flüssigwaschmittel auch in der angefangenen Flasche problemlos weiterverwendet werden. Erst bei Entnahme der Wäsche aus der Waschmaschine: eine Odelgrube ist nix dagegen - NIE MEHR WIEDER DAS ÖKO-ZEUG ! Wie sagte schon Oma: "Persi...bleibt Persi...!"

Have recently had a lot of itchy skin irritations. Thinking about it, it seems to have roughly dated from when I started using non bio Ecover laundry liquid because it is zero% fragrance free. Could there be a connection?

how can this be allowed legally? we have just discovered that this so called environmentally friendly product is the opposite. Shame on you for selling to SC Johnson and shame on you for duping customers into thinking they are doing the right thing. The bottom line is that you simply can't trust any business. So sad.

I just don't feel like my clothes are clean using their non bio detergent and fabric softener. Adding to this that they are no longer as eco as they make out.... I'm switching to someone else more eco and ethical, that will actually clean my clothes properly!

Since they changed to new formulas & fragrance for their multi purpose & bathroom cleaner I have stopped buying.
Really disappointing as I used both for years

Have used ecover for years but gradually noticed a change and something really chemical and totally off about the various products smells eg..could feel the all purpose spray attacking my lungs. Didn't know where to dispose of it it smelled so poisonous. I see now it is yet another bought over brand still trading on the old name. Why are we surrounded by greedy liars intent on poisoning the planet and hurting animals in the process. If they had taken a new name I would have looked in to it. I will never buy Ecover again.

Ecover hat nichts mehr mit dem ehemaligen Ecovert zu tun. Es enthält jetzt ebenso wie jedes andere Waschmittel Enzyme, so dass Wolle und Seide leiden, d.h. rauh und filzig werden. Hab mir meine schönen Sachen verdorben - schade. Den Rest des Waschmittel nehme ich zum Putzen, aber das war es dann für mich mit Ecover.

I was appalled to discover that Ecover is no longer an eco-friendly cleaner. It was taken over by S C Johnson, who use animal testing and there are concerns about its palm oil sourcing, environmental practice and more.
It still appears to be an eco-friendly product but is not. Its rating has plummeted.

There is an active boycott on this product.
I certainly won't be buying it again.
