The price you originally see, may go up two days later

When I initially saw this chair, it was one price. When I went to order it two days later, it was $15 more expensive. When I emailed the sales department about the price difference, no one got back to me. When I emailed the sales department to say that I would order five more chairs at the original price that I saw them for, again, no one got back to me. As a former manager in retail, English Elm has a lot to learn about customer service!

Before buying - ask yourself - would you buy from a website that does not have a contract us button for customer service?

Back order problem


Here is the latest issue I had with EE. This is my email to them yesterday.

I'm very unhappy with the second back order that I have been given by English elm on this item. (a table)

I first ordered it back in like October or November. And although it was live on your website I ordered it, I was told that is back ordered.

English elm offered me a refund instead of a back order.

*** PLEASE GIVE ME THAT REFUND NOW.

Instead, I used my kindness and patience to accept a back order delivery date in February.

Well February came and the email I was sent is frustrating. It says there has been a SLIGHT DELAY in my order which will now be fulfilled in April I'm told. And the email blamed supply chain as though that's a thing like it was during covid.

Late last year every big box store was backodered on this item too, Home Depot in Walmart for example.. But they have had this item in stock since January 1st. What's up with English Elm?

I didn't want to buy from a big box store and bought from your store instead. The kind of service I have been provided on this item by English elm illustrates why big box stores are so successful.

This place is a scam

They literally sold me a piece of furniture, charged me and sent me an email that they no longer had the item in stock. They suggested i add myself to a back order list. This company is a fraud!

Arrived quickly, no problems…

I had to inquire about the availability of a chair before I ordered it. They responded quickly to my questions. After I ordered the chair (last one in the warehouse) it arrived in less than 2 weeks. It was in perfect shape and easy to put together. In other reviews I read, people complained about the lack of notification around when items shipped. I did not receive any notification that the chair had shipped so I was pleasantly surprised that it showed up so fast. I did receive an email after the chair arrived that they would be shipping my chair soon, lol, so I let them know I had already received it. I would order from them again.

Shipping communication was clunky

I had a great experience with English Elm but their shipping communication was a little clunky and I could not tell when my mirror was going to arrive. However, I received a text from the deliverer that seemed odd so I called them and once I called them, it was a great experience. However it was very confusing on the front end.

Excellent website presentation which…

Excellent website presentation which made selecting a rug a very fun experience. Shipping was fast and the rug arrived in perfect condition. Best thing of all, is that how good it looks in person. In other words, the appearance and quality exceeds our already high expectations.

Shame on you

Shame on you, English Elm. You accepted my payment over a week ago for a rug that I am just now being told doesn’t exist. My order # is ORDER 11501243854. Call me and make it right, and I will change my review. Bad business form.

They are extremely dishonest

They are extremely dishonest.
I purchased an item from them on 12/22 and tried to cancel it the same day using their email provided on the website, and got no response. I copied and past the same email into my Gmail and sent them a message and the email was returned undelivered. How can you cancel within an allotted time when the email doesn't work and it's the only way to cancel according to their cancelation policy?
Ontop of that they say items must be canceled before the shipment process starts but apparently the shipment process starts the moment you purchase an item. This is a very dishonest practice, making you think you have time to cancel when you really don't. Purchased on 12/22, sent the cancelation request on 12/22 moments after purchase with no response, then finally got hold of them and they say i missed the window and the item was shipped 4-5 days later. How is this trustworthy. I don't usually leave negative reviews, but this is a scam if i ever seen one.
I have been disputing this with my credit card company and because of how they worded their policy its difficult to deal with them.

Items were on back order they should…

Items were on back order they should confirm before they ship if customer would still want the order, not only just before they start making the item. Items also arrived late and some damaged. I am waiting for them to send a label. They haven’t.
