I raised the issue with Link, but I simply got pushed from one person to another. Emails were ignored. The staff were superficially polite, but they did not help. The system seems designed to obsuficate until the person seeking help just gives up.

Bad actors, they sign you up or the company using them for payment allows them to sign you up without openly asking for your consent. You can go to their website and cancel immediately, yet it still states they can hold your information for 120 days, Also contact the company you paid to have them delete your information to ensure no one has that information you try so hard to protect.

For a service used across many platforms, this lack of transparency is frustrating. Users can lose access without warning and have no way to resolve the issue.
I understand risk controls are necessary, but there should be at least some level of communication or review available.

Unfortunately, you are not aware you are being scammed until the payment has gone through Link and you are given the name of the co the money is going to. There is no way of stopping it, no clear way of reporting it and no way to contact Link.

I donât even understand what happened. I went and paid a deposit on a site, then all the sudden I got an email from this company stating I need to verify my email to make a wallet.
Like what? I donât know you, why and how did you get my email? Seriously crazy. I donât care if there is some seamless thing they want to do⊠I donât want to be a part of it. No business signing me up for some service I donât want.
How shady is that? Itâs just crazy. Donât mess with peoples finance stuff. Like Iâm going to trust a company like this after that? Debating canceling my card.

If I could give it zero stars, I would. Linkâs billing model is one of the most misleading and consumer-unfriendly systems Iâve encountered.
I was charged for a service I had already canceled within the trial period. At no point was it made clear that I was expected to take an additional, separate action through Link to prevent billing. Like most reasonable users, I understood canceling the service itself to mean the billing relationship had ended.
Instead, Link operates in a way that obscures that responsibility, then enforces charges based on that lack of clarity.
When I contacted support, they acknowledged the situation but refused to issue a refund, stating their decision was final. This response reinforces the impression that the system is designed to benefit from user confusion rather than prevent it.
A payment platform should prioritize transparency, informed consent, and user control. Link does the oppositeâcreating a fragmented and opaque billing experience that shifts the burden onto the customer.
This is not just frustratingâit is a fundamentally flawed approach to billing that undermines trust. I will be avoiding any service that uses Link going forward.

I signed up to purchase (not to subscribe) a weight reduction med from TrimRX advertised at $158.00 a month. Upon entering my Amex, I received an email from link welcoming me as a subscriber. I noticed two charges of $475.00 each on my credit card immediately and proceeded to cancel the order from TrimRX. It took 0ver a half hour to connect with rep from 0600 to 0630 on 03/13/2026. I demanded a cancellation confirmation proof from TrimRX and received both a text and an email. No mentioned of fees incurred was mentioned from rep. I called Link.com to cancel my un-authorized billing account and was told that it would take up to 120 days to delete? I was automatically signed up for Link.com on multiple email addresses, including my work address that I never typed into the website. Maybe they're a legitimate payment platform, but I have no trust in them given I never chose to use them. My credit card works fine, I don't need another payment platform increasing my risk of theft.
EDIT: I appreciate the response from Link.com. I logged in to find my personal information and credit card details in the account, along with a single transaction of the last online purchase I made. However, Link shouldn't be saving all of my info permanently for a single, one-off purchase.

Figured it out! It's a legit checkout service for online purchases, digital purchases. It works on multiple sites so if you go to site A and pay for X, and decide to save your credit card info, then at site B's checkout form to buy Y, Link will verify by using a verification code by SMS. I believe it must be secured by wonderful modern encryption methods so that a few billion credit card users will be safe from hackers.

However, link.com charged my credit card a subscription fee of $9.95 that I did not authorize. When I went back to the link.com website it showed that my account was not even set-up yet. Link somehow managed to get the number of a debit card I never use online (only in public) and entered a duplicate charge to Lands' End. The first was legitimate--i.e., I entered the debit card # I use online. Four days later (today) they entered the same charge using the other number. It took a while on the phone to Lands' End to cancel the order entirely. I said that I won't use LE again as long as they use Link. I think they should be investigated.

I was dealing with Flight Catchers and
there was a misunderstanding with one of their employees, regarding taxes when I requested for a refund of the flight. The way the employee explained it, I was under the impression that they will take £100-£150 out the total ticket price as taxes. However, this wasnât explained well and they were actually only going to refund me that amount (£100-£150) I was very disappointed upon realising this and this happened to be after the call, I rang them again straight after to ask them if they can not process the refund and instead change my flight and they replied âNoâ. This was very disheartening and upsetting especially with the living crisis at the moment. I also suffer with special needs and learning difficulties and they showed a lack of empathy and understanding. In conclusion, I was scammed an estimate of £400 and I absolutely do not recommend this deceitful company (Flight Catchers). Mr Azam
