Finally received payment in May butâŠ
Finally received payment in May but only after complaining to the Cabinet Office who found out that the payment agent for Mycsp had rejected my overseas banking mandate. This rejection was ignored by Mycsp and only discovered after the Cabinet Office launched an investigation for me.
On another note I received a reply from Mycsp complaints regarding a complaint from over a month ago. They are so disorganized that they didnât check their own system that showed that a payment had been made to me and they could disregard my questions.
The best advice I can give is if you have problems go straight to the Cabinet Office, donât bother with your MP, the days of treating an MPâs enquiry as urgent are long gone.
Good luck.
Would like to give zero but ratings doâŠ
Would like to give zero but ratings do not go that low: Received a pension based on my salary in September but received a back dated pay rise in October (from July) so my pension & lump sum should be recalculated. "Revision" as they term it has been going on since October 2023 & I am told being done in date order but they could not (would not?) tell me what date they had reached nor any timescale for arrears. Asked to speak to someone but no phones on revision team & no supervisors to speak to!
Failure at all levels.
Numerous attempts to proceed/process my pension. Information sent, months of delay, request for further information, no progress.
Incompetent, inefficient and failure at all levels.
Tried to call numerous times and hours spent unable to get through.
I've dealt with several pension companies and they are by far the worst.
How to deal with myCSP
To all of you out there who have been badly treated by myCSP this is what I've sent to the Cabinet Office:
For the attention of Simon Claydon
Director of Civil Service Pay, Policy and Pensions
Cabinet Office
Dear Mr Claydon,
On the 29th of April, 2024, I retired from the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) after dedicating 29 years to its service, which is part of my more than 36 years of commitment to the Civil Service.
I had envisioned a seamless transition into retirement, but my experience with myCSP has shattered that expectation. I had been informed via email that I would receive my final documents on April 22nd and my retirement lump sum payment on April 30th. Regrettably, these promises were not fulfilled. Despite numerous attempts to reach out through phone calls, which sometimes took up to an hour just to speak with someone, and sending emails that received no response, the process was fraught with inconsistencies. I received various accounts regarding the status of my monthly pension payments, when my lump sum would be disbursed, and assurances that I would get my final documents via email. The entire process is chaotic, and the failure to provide the final documentation before my initial pension payment prevented me from making necessary financial plans.
After seeking assistance from my previous employer, the FCDO relayed to me that myCSP had confirmed the finalisation of my documents and the processing and issuance of my lump sum. Unfortunately, this turned out to be false information from myCSP as far as I was concerned, as I had received neither the promised communications via post or email, nor the lump sum by close of play on Friday, 17th May.
However, on Monday, 20th May I received the email detailing my payments etc and I did receive my lump sum, albeit enduring another weekend of not being able to plan anything or knowing anything. There is still nothing in writing as of today, Tuesday, 21 May, which makes me believe that for the intervention of my former employer, I would have received nothing till June or later.
It is imperative that an investigation be launched to scrutinise the operations of this badly managed organisation and to determine the necessary reforms. Ideally, a replacement provider should be sought out as the current situation is inexcusable and reflects a state of complete disorder. myCSP just don't seem to realise that they're playing with peoples' livelihoods.
Consequently, as a result of this poor service, I had to increase my overdraft limit, lost out on a flat and I couldn't plan ahead and I am seeking compensation for the stress, anxiety, the ability not to plan ahead, and for having to increase my overdraft limit.
I've raised a complaint with the Pension Ombudsman to find out why myCSP is badly managed. I will also be writing to my MP to look into the workings of myCSP and to raise it in Parliament if it is fit for purpose in its present form. It is not. I hope I never have to contact these people again.
This link sums it up really.
Regards
Waiting for 14 months for my pension
I have been waiting for my FCO pension since April 2024 - 14 months. I applied for an "allocation". The delay is constantly attributed to a third party supplier called Health Management Limited. I have been told three times this has been "escalated" but with no impact. I am now on my second formal complaint (which apparently takes 28 working days to respond). The first one was "completed" with them saying it was Health Management's fault. MyCSP, of course, are not civil servants, it appears it is an outsourced contract to the infamous Capita
This whole process is a joke they haveâŠ
This whole process is a joke they have left me with no pension and have had the paperwork 6 months and they dont seem to give a dam , the contact centre are useless they can only put notes on and email the administrators who seem to be untouchable , my case has been escalated for IMMEDIATE ACTION this was 2 days ago their idea of immediate and mine seem to be totally different , i have went go my MP to try and help and at the moment i have still not got any payment or finalisation paperwork which was due a week ago I didnt even want to give them 1 STAR these jobs need moved to somewhere where they can do the job
Words fail me....
Minus 1 million stars...my experience as the last 2 posts. Lump-sums due in April. Not a word from CSP to say still not sorted mess they created. I sent my application in October 2023. CSP only contacted my payroll provider in April 2024 for the WP refund data. Please would the government stop moving public sector work north. It's not efficient or effective. I've mentioned several times I'm facing financial hardship. They couldn't care less if they tried. Years ago I worked on the DWP front line. If I'd demonstrated the skills level of CSP staff I would have been justifiably sacked!
Please ask friends who experience CSP problems to add their experiences to trust pilot. I'm now planning to write to the Chair of Public Accounts Committee in Parliament. CSP shambles needs to end!
Can't give no stars unfortunately
Can't give no stars unfortunately. MyCSP received my completed forms (sent by recorded delivery) on 15 February 2024. I should have received my lump sum and details of my pension payment (due to be paid on 1 May 2024) by now. They sent an email on 17 April 2024 that went to my spam, which I only found out because I rang them (waited 37 minutes on the phone) which stated that they thought I was single, this was despite me sending a copy of the decree absolute bearing the official seal of the County Court!!!! They now have to recalculate the widows pension element, so God knows when I'll receive anything now. I've put in a formal complaint, completed an internal dispute resolution form and made a subject access request. I'm really, really annoyed about this, worked for HMRC for over 36 years and having to deal with this is just not acceptable.
Miscalculated Alpha pension amount
Miscalculated Alpha pension amount. Failed to respond within the time limits they set for themselves. Mischaracterised a compliant as a pension query, even though it was headed COMPLAINT. Call handlers cannot do anything other then refer matters on to others.
Have read other people's reviews andâŠ
Have read other people's reviews and I'm 100% agreement with everyone. Went partial retirement on the 29th January 2024 and I'm still chasing for my lump sum And still being fobbed off everytime I phoned. Now I going through the cabinet office complaint. Don't they see that is our money not theirs. And that we that money until we get our pension
No one replies in a timely manner andâŠ
No one replies in a timely manner and seem to disregard the hard copies of documents they have received and request them again. Completely useless and uncaring.
These Clowns have a complaints link onâŠ
These Clowns have a complaints link on their Website, I wanted to find out about my Refund of Widows contributions which have been ignored since last March! So I put in a Complaint and Guess What?.. Even the Complaints department do not reply back!..What a Shambles the Civil Service Pensions has turned into.
Pity no option to give zero stars
Pity no option to give zero stars. Portal is constantly unable to log into. Sent 2 enquiries with no response. Even changed password several times get acknowledgment that it is changed then when try to login still error with password. Useless.
Useless and Incompetent
This company is dreadful. I have complained twice, no acknowledgement. Emails are not replied to. Call centre have no supervisor. I've now retired from the civil service after almost 50 years and can't get my pension. I fear this company is as corrupt as Horizon and Fijitsu and the Post Office!!!
Shocking 'service!'
Where to start?
I worked as a Civil Servant for 35+ years with broken service due to TUPE. As I retired early in 2022, I chose to contact MYCSP and claim my first, what is a PCSPS 'Classic' pension. That first experience of dealing with MYCSP was shocking, poor and stressful. Many emails, letters and telephone calls later (several, after waiting 20-30 minutes on an automated maze of a system for a reply), ended abruptly by the line getting cut! Dealing with them is a maze of frustration and stress. Eventually after several months and tenacity, I resolved the pension with them and got them to pay it.
However, advancing the clock to October 2023 (and realising that I was no doubt going to have problems yet again), this time claiming a second civil service pension, I followed all the recommended on-line information on the MYCSP website, I applied for my second (Alpha) pension which from the start of January 2024, I would be eligible for. I completed all relevant forms and requests to submit the information and request for Alpha pension payments to commence. Over three months later, and tired of waiting for any reply, I started getting nervous and suspicious why I had not heard anything from them, so I telephoned them today. I was informed that there was no record of me submitting any on-line request form for my pension, (and yet I have proof). The response from them was simply to request that I submit the on-line forms AGAIN and wait to be contacted. I have lost three months waiting for them to respond to me from the first attempt. This has caused stress and anxiety, and now I have to go through it all again. The service provided is inept at best. I have nothing but contempt for them. I will be writing to the Pensions ombudsman and even possibly my local MP to complain about them. Disgraceful service. If you are an ex Civil Servant approaching you retirement - Good luck dealing with them!
Failure to update records, terrible customer experience
I changed my name by deed poll in May last year. Sent off the documents and authorisation to change to MyCSP and heard nothing. So I called them and was told I needed to send either a passport or driving licence. I have neither so explained this, I also explained that I am not in a financial position to obtain these documents. This started the incredibly stressful and farcical process of me telling them repeatedly I wasnât able to supply what they wanted. I contacted them numerous times to try to find a solution but just received the same almost identical negative response which I found borderline rude, no one seemed capable of even asking a manager what to do, they just seemed to want my case off their desk. I explained that under GDPR I have a right to correct details being held about me and that I felt financially discriminated against because they were insisting I get documents that would cost me money I couldnât afford and time to obtain. All of it ignored. My final attempt was at the end of last year, met with the same offhand, badly worded rebuttal. So I submitted a formal complaint via their online complaints form (I was told thatâs the only way to complain). I waited a few weeks and heard nothing so phoned again to see if they had my complaint. No they didnât, so I was advised to email it to the generic contact email and entitle it âcomplaintâ and the call handler would go look for it. Eventually in December I got a response, âin this case I have updated your recordsâ. Well thank you, how kind of you to do me this favour. I donât understand why I had to go through this huge inconvenience and stress only for them to just accept what I said and then act like they were doing me a favour. Appalling customer service, even more so because anyone with a civil service pension is trapped and canât take their business elsewhere.
Now I have asked for the forms to claim my deferred classic pension. And surprise surprise I havenât had a reply.
Fraud and Corruption on a MassiveâŠ
Fraud and Corruption on a Massive scale!! From what I Heard they are being Investigated! Sackings from top to bottom in this Useless Left Wing Establishment who look after outsiders only.
Dire organisation with no improvement
Dire am due to finally retire in March 24 after 18 months of partial retirement. Gets my quote this week with no reference to anything on the remedy /McCloud consideration so got intouch. Oh you have to wait 18 months your retired erm no I am retiring in March why cant you do the consideration now in a once and done approach.
Putting me in an unfair position having to wait when they could easily assess it therefore withholding and putting me into duress and unable to get a steady state retirement financial position when the govt discrimated against its employees.
Imagine treating a DWP or Tax credit customer like that..
So I submitted a complaint via their online contact form which said form submitted but no email confirmation so again another torteous time waiting on the phone only to be told oh we dont have your complaint send an email.
Just what is the point of having a form that doesnt work
This isnt the first time this has happened through emails coming in and out from their system so something is wrong here.
Withholding peoples potential
pension payments is poor and causes distress.
I really think they are delivering a poor service and I am aghast as to why this is let to continue with no valid improvement seen ð That responsibilty to move forward a continoous improvement falls under the responsibiliy and governance 9f their senior managers and the executive team
Sent 2 complaints via their website no replyâŠ
Sent 2 complaints via their website advising them that no payslip for my pension received since September 11th. First complaint made 23rd November no reply, 2nd complaint 9th December 2023, no reply. Last payslip received was in September so now owed 3 outstanding payslips plus up coming payment for January which no doubt will be the same case. Tried phoning them but after 4 attempts of not getting through I have given up. Their customer service is not fit for purpose.

I gave 1 star as it seems I can't give less. Awful, awful, awful customer service. They NEVER respond to emails, they are totally inept with any information they give and really, really slow at everything they do. Once again, awful, awful awful. The management should be ashamed!!
