I LOVE THIS SUBSCRIPTION!! They are always transparent with shipping times, cover reveals, any and all issues, etc.

Not only do the books arrive on time but they look like they’re advertised, and great quality. If you’re lucky enough to snag an Owlcrate item or subscription invite, i would do it!!

Love Nest and the community aspect of it. Really helpfull to bond with reades like myself from all over the world.

Books and have one subscription with another starting in the spring. Everything I have received was packaged perfectly, arrived on time, and was the perfect addition to my collection. I can’t wait to see what other new books they bring!

Owlcrate is such a great company. Their books have such a cohesive theme and they just get better and better.

Horrible! I order books on Dec 1 for Christmas. It’s Dec. 28 and no books. The tracking number given by customer service says it’s in “pre shipment” and is awaiting pickup from USPS. It has been saying this since Dec 10. Customer service phone is no longer in service. Getting nowhere thru email.

I thought I would try a box from the archive before signing up for a subscription. My order did not ship for weeks; my order placed in November still has not arrived, completely missing Christmas. I wrote customer service in early December and they did not reply; I wrote again, they did not reply; I messaged on Facebook, they deleted my comment and did not reply. I emailed again to cancel my order, they did not reply. Based on the other reviews I see here, it sounds like they are going under.

OwlCrate misrepresents its shipping dates. On Dec 10, I ordered a gift because their site said it would ship in 3-6 business days. When I inquired on Dec 18 when it would ship, a team member said I had "missed the window" for a xmas arrival and the gift would ship Dec 29. OwlCrate did not offer a shipping upgrade nor an apology. Instead, they blamed me for "missing the window" even though I ordered in timely manner, according to their promised shipping policy

I ordered a book from their store that said it would ship in 3-6 days. That was on November 27. On December 5, exactly 6 business days after my order they said my order had shipped. It is now December 14 and my tracking number is still not active. Customer service informed me that the label has just been printed, and my order has not actually been picked up. Their 3-6 day shipping timeline is a bald-faced lie, and now this time will be of absolutely no use for the gift exchange it was intended for. I’ll never order from them again.

Was subscribed to Owlcrate for a good few years on and off. They used to do some absolutely fabulous boxes! I do feel now though that they have dropped in quality.
The quality of the ‘goodies’ was always quite good but rather bizarre items included at times; not really related to either the book or reading. Things like an ice pop holder (?), chopsticks and a pan stand were items received in the past. I felt for myself I would have preferred a more reading related set of goodies or more vegan candles or nice coffee etc. Cruelty free bath soak and stationery items are nice additions to use while enjoying my book and I always enjoyed receiving these items. But sadly the kitchen items were just a compete miss for myself and I found them to be just clutter.
Also, the focus on featuring LGBT books was so heavy I feel it took precedence over the actual quality of the storyline of the books included multiple times. After about the seventh ‘2 star’ Goodreads review of a ‘representative and inclusive’ book and a pile of weird items for the thrift shop I decided to have a breather.
I think Owlcrate should stick to including book related items or clear themes that bookworms would enjoy.

I’ve had 12 boxes from owlcrate now, with mixed results. Mostly, I’m quite disappointed with the “goodies” and find the whole box quite underwhelming, HOWEVER… three of the twelve boxes have been really, really good, and are probably the top three boxes I’ve received from ANY subscription company (I’ve had boxes from five companies). The book customisations aren’t very impressive, and they often run late shipping their boxes out. But occasionally you just get such a great book or box, that I have stayed subscribed for fear of missing out.

Their customer service is not great. I asked a simple question of when an item I bought was supposed to ship, and their response was less than kind. From the times I've communicated with them and from the actions they take it seems like they have a bit of a superiority complex. The boxes were okay, but not the highest quality of products. And their shipping times were always delayed.

I was subscribed to Owlcrate for about 8 months or so. I decided to unsub because half the books I got from them had quality control issues. I also wasn't really impressed with a lot of the design choices they made for their exclusive editions. Surprisingly, though, I was very happy with several of the extra items I got in my boxes. They included some really unique items that were pretty good quality. Despite this, I feel a bit uncomfortable doing business with them after that whole situation with the Harry Potter mugs.

This box is so fun! The special editions are gorgeous and we get items that are actually useful and unique. If you love YA, this is a good one to check out!

I would caution anyone who considers buying Owlcrate - do not waste your money.

After $103 and who knows what customs charges when my box gets here (update: another £22), I have now seen an unboxing of the Addie Larue edition I'm waiting for. The extortionate shipping charges are due to a completely useless, £5 crappy Wodden Block Calendar, that I could pick up at any local store! And before they come at me with the "but it has a quote on it" crap, you can't actually see that when the calendar is in use - so no different to a cheap version. Oh and also noone uses a wooden block calendar anymore.

The rest of the items are the same - useless and not worth the money, and the "exclusive edition" of the book just looks like it's missing the US edition dust jacket - since it looks like a naked edition of the US cover. Plus mine is damaged but there’s absolutely no point asking for another one since they’d just slam me with more customs charges for it.

Ich kann die Buchbox nur empfehlen! Manchmal treffen die Items nicht ganz meinen Geschmack - aber das ist subjektiv.
Eine Box ging im Corona-Chaos verloren und ich habe das Geld erstattet bekommen.
Von allen Buchboxen ist Owlcrate am pünktlichsten.

I love this company! Their boxes are great and so is their customer service. Some boxes are better than others, but that is the way with subscription boxes! They are also great at replacing any damaged items. :)

Owlcrate is by far the best book subscription I've tried. The book picks are consistently engaging (and signed by the author!), the quality of the other items they include is fantastic, and their customer service is amazing! ♡♡♡ They clearly care about their customers and love what they do.

I’ve been getting this box for months and I’m never disappointed k. The boxes are great, and so is the customer service.
