Video Banking for the win!!
This evening I had a video meeting with Lauren OâBrien to set up a joint bank account. Whilst I was not looking forward to the meeting after a long day at work, thinking it would be very boring (death by Ts and Cs), Lauren was energetic and friendly throughout. I was very pleased with the service I received from Lauren, and it was really convenient to have the meeting online - we would have struggled attending the appointment around our working hours if it wasnât for the video banking option! I visited TSB Harrow this morning to sort out an unidentified transaction. Aysha welcomed me with a warm smile and helped with not just with my query but also helped me open savings that gave better interest. And also helped me open a current account. This was done with patience and a friendly aproach which has given me confidence. Thank you very much Aysha you are fantastic and need to be rewarded.

Technology is poor
In order to do the action I require an in branch appointment. This is only able to enquire about online via a form where there is at least a 2 day delay for confirmation. Calling only allows discussion about current account balances or payments not able to actually speak to staff. Itâs infuriating when you have work/kids and there are only specific times/days when you can actually go to the branch and babysitting is required. I am happy to do things online but the booking system is so outdated and delays are not supporting working people. They also make any changes to direct debit payments to mortgage extremely difficult having to either call (but not being able to actually speak to someone as above) or arrange an appointment which as I just mentioned is equally as challenging to confirm. I would NOT recommend TSB for anything requiring actually speaking to someone until they upgrade their systems.

Saving Account options
The reason for this five star review is Benz at the Doncaster branch. We spoke to him about savings accounts. He explains everything so clearly and sets out the options without any pressure.
Account easy to open but Switch is a bit more tricky
I opened a Spend & Save account and also did a Switch application at the same time. My account was opened but my Switch application never went through, which meant that I had to phone TSB to find out what had happened. I had to reapply for my Switch.

Customer value?
I was notified that my credit card was going to be replaced (it was not due until 2028) meaning my current card use would be limited meanwhile. This created a problem delaying/paying several bills online. I questioned why (seeing as I pay monthly for the 'privilige' of my current account!) a card couldn't be delivered by registered post! Four days on and counting, still no card.
Whilst I appreciate security is important, I was given no details why it was flagged. I checked and found all transactions online and in person had gone through to date!? The current and future inconvenience could have been minimised by just 'investing' in more timely/efficient postage. Do I feel valued as a customer? Do I feel I'm getting value for the price I'm paying monthly? Simple answer is 'no'. There are other issues I could include (app functions that don't work etc,) but this is the latest of a sequence that may make me choose another bank.
Addendum:
A response to my complaint by letter (post came quicker than my replacement card!) really misses the point and was somewhat lecturing and 'offish'. Thank you, you've made my decision for me. Staff in the branch seem to be very different from the faceless back office folks on the phone and in the 'customer relations' team.
