A transparent process that isn't transparent really
A transparent process that isn't transparent, bots that reply to messages, and generic responses rather than an actual person solving your issues. Really terrible company to work with.
I had paid the 50 EUR, climbed the waiting list over three months, and then when I was first for multiple properties, I went for the one most suited to me. Unfortunately, due to their own fault and not mine, the online viewing failed due to the landlord not showing up.
Even though I was first in line and happy to take the property, I was pushed to the back of line, and then lost out on the property. The only way I found this out was when I checked my rental profile. No one told me despite me being offered a rental proposal.
When I enquired, I was faced with bots, and generic responses "the waitlist is based on when you signed up" Bro i signed up in December and it was April and now I am first. How did I drop to 41. When I told them the system is glitching they said no. Two days later they said yes but by then someone else got the apartment and I was almost homeless.
I would recommend they learn some customer management skills and stop scamming people out of 50 EUR. The 50 EUR should be refunded if they don't find you a place as there is incentive for them to not find you one.
False advertising and really terrible customer service.

- A previous housing allocation was dropped due to your failure to complete the process;
- You had entered an incorrect phone number in your account, which may have hindered contact;

Found good apartment in less than a week
The collaboration turned out quite good. I was applying for an apartment, and I did pay for the Faster Renting option. I had an apartment assigned in the first batch, 2 days after starting, and it was a pretty good one.
The only thing I found unusual and that gave me some doubts was the fact that I had to first sign the contract and send the money, and only then a final check was performed and the landlord signed. I was a bit wary it is a scam, but it turned out well, everything checked out, and I got a signature.
The team was very cooperative, clear, and the responses were timely by using the chat function on the website - initially a bit hard to find how to start a conversation but ultimately quite convenient.

Misleidende informatie
Mijn ervaring met Verhuurtbeter is zeer teleurstellend. Op de website wordt gesuggereerd dat je onder bepaalde voorwaarden aan de inschrijfcriteria voldoet. Op basis daarvan heb ik het inschrijfgeld van â¬50 betaald. Na betaling bleek echter dat ik toch niet in aanmerking kwam, wat ik als misleidend ervaar.
Ik heb hierover contact opgenomen met de klantenservice en aangegeven dat ik het niet correct vind dat er onduidelijke of tegenstrijdige informatie wordt verstrekt. Ik heb verzocht om restitutie van het bedrag, aangezien ik anders geen betaling had gedaan. Hoewel de medewerkers beleefd en vriendelijk waren, had ik geen recht op restitutie wat mij enorm verbaasde aangezien ze aangaven dat de inderdaad de informatie moesten aanpassen.
Er werd aangegeven dat ik eventueel voor andere woningen in aanmerking zou kunnen komen, maar bijna twee maanden later is er nog steeds geen passend aanbod verschenen. Al met al ben ik zeer ontevreden over de geboden service en raad ik Verhuurtbeter niet aan.
Update 15-10-2025: Op 11 juli (rond 17:00) sprak ik telefonisch met Herman van Verhuurtbeter. We maakten duidelijke afspraken: hij zou zich inzetten voor het terugbetalen van de â¬50 en later persoonlijk contact opnemen. Ik gaf hem daar, zoals afgesproken, de tijd voor. Drie maanden later had ik echter nog steeds niets gehoord. Toen ik zelf opnieuw contact opnam, was de toon van het gesprek opvallend vijandig. Het personeel vond namelijk dat hun âpersoonlijk contactâ bestond uit het bericht dat zij in de avond van 11-07 via Trustpilot hadden geplaatst. Dat er vervolgens een teamvergadering nodig was om te concluderen dat hun informatie âniet tegenstrijdigâ zou zijn, zegt genoeg. Als meerdere mensen moeten overleggen om dat vast te stellen, is de communicatie dus simpelweg niet duidelijk. Blijkbaar verwacht men dat klanten álle artikelen op hun website lezen om misverstanden te voorkomen. Daarnaast is er in de afgelopen vijf maanden geen enkele woning in de regio Amsterdam vrijgekomen onder â¬1500 per maand, waardoor deze site voor mensen zonder een hoog inkomen feitelijk ongeschikt is.
Mijn herhaaldelijke verzoeken om Herman te spreken, degene met wie ik deze afspraken had gemaakt, werden afgewezen met de opmerking: âDit is ons standpunt, een belletje van Herman verandert dat niet.â Op dit punt ging het allang niet meer om het geld, maar om de manier waarop Verhuurtbeter met klanten omgaat. Verschillende medewerkers geven tegenstrijdige informatie en de bereidheid om afspraken na te komen lijkt te ontbreken. Jammer, want Herman leek destijds wél bereid dit netjes op te lossen. Na dit gesprek heb ik dan ook geen behoefte meer om verdere communicatie met Verhuurtbeter aan te gaan.
Ik schrijf deze update niet uit frustratie, maar als waarschuwing. Wie overweegt via Verhuurtbeter een woning te zoeken, moet weten dat de informatie intern niet op één lijn ligt en dat je bij problemen vooral stuit op een muur van defensief gedrag.

Wat jammer te lezen dat we je niet blij konden maken, tot op heden.
Onze collega Herman heeft je gebeld en heeft je ook gesproken. Wij vernemen graag wat dan "misleidend" was, want dat willen we juist niet veroorzaken.
We vinden het vooral jammer, omdat we er alles aan doen om dat wat jou gebeurde te voorkomen, want:
1. we hebben een gratis account, waarin je eerst kunt kijken of we je kunnen helpen en of onze werkwijze en woningaanbod je bevallen.
2. op de website geven we juist (bijvoorbeeld voor August Allebéplein) op voorhand aan dat je inkomen uit een baan of werk nodig hebt om in aanmerking te komen.
3. Op onze website en de verschillende artikels hebben we duidelijk vermeld bij welke projecten studenten nog konden aanmelden, want dat is nu inderdaad nergens meer mogelijk.
4. Omdat we met een wachtlijst werken, zien we ook mensen die nu een niet passend profiel hebben, zich (betaald) aanmelden, omdat ze verwachten later wel aan de voorwaarden te kunnen voldoen. Ze staan dan alvast op de wachtlijst en maken dus daardoor later aanzienlijk meer kans.
Kortom, we doen er dus alles aan om helder en transparant te zijn.
Hoop dat we je de volgende keer alsnog kunnen helpen. Je account blijft namelijk 12 maanden geldig.
UPDATE: 11-07 heden hebben wij in overleg met ons team alles nogmaals bekeken. Het in aanmerking kunnen komen met spaargeld was al maanden alleen mogelijk bij onze projecten CTC en De Kameleon en dat stond ook zo in onze artikels. Bij alle andere projecten kan dat niet en dat blijkt ook uit iedere woningadvertentie, waarin we aangeven wat nodig is om in aanmerking te komen. In de basis is dat altijd inkomen uit arbeid of onderneming voor project August. Spaargeld staat daar niet bij en we vermelden nadrukkelijk dat garantstelling niet mogelijk is. Wij kunnen niet anders concluderen dat dit op voorhand helder was. Voor de rest verwijzen wij nogmaals naar onze reactie hiervoor. Wij hopen je alsnog bij een andere woning te helpen. De wachtlijst werkt in dat verband in je voordeel.
