Best bits about AVON UK for me are:
1. Great customers some loyal to me for over 9 years.
2. Great products, many are being repeat ordered
3. Customers using AVON for at least 30 years, the proof is in the pudding.
4. Avon's first large company to reject animal testing and force China to consider alternatives
5. Free delivery for reps and customers
6. Free gifts and samples
7. Avon supports causes including Domestic Violence, Cancer and Gender and Aesthetic differences.
8. Options to share my free online store on just about any internet based platform, thus increasing my audience.
9. Comfort of working from home, when I feel like it.
I personally have known of Avon since childhood because my mother used to keep all the fancy bottles and she had a rep visit often. I tried being a rep nearly 40 years ago but I found the support and lack of a telephone a hassle and dropped out after 6 months. I re
I got hired again in 2012 and things have improved year on year with support networks of real reps and leaders to check in with and to take advice from.
I also love the fact that guys are carving out careers for themselves even though the "Company for Women" is mainly seen as a ladies thing. I signed my brother and am mentoring him. The very least is he can show it on his CV which could open up other opportunities, plus there are other guy reps for him to network with.
Worst bits:
1. Organising and filing my tax return every year
2. Not looking the part, it helps to be well presented, I do not always achieve that.

Summary: Great products, chance to make money and build teams, chance to meet reps and customers online or in person. All training, online store and tools are free from the very start. Part of a community with support anytime from mentors and head office support centre, free delivery. Desired skills: Credit worthy for own account to start with, smart and organised, positive outlook, work from home (phone and computer is an asset) , ability to represent yourself first and products second, genuinely care and like your customers, treat is as business not a hobby, good communication and time keeping.

The last order I received had been opened, 2 items had been removed, and the box taped back together again. 2 contacts about this were ignored.
Edit: It's now been months. 4 emails and a tweet, completely ignored. After using Avon for 30 years, never again.

WISH I COULD GIVE 0 STARS! Harassing my partner for the money that her deceased mother owed them, Disrespectful and disgraceful, she only passed last month.
"Charlene and Phillip" if that is there real names, Clearly lying about their names over the phone as to not get done for harassment.
But I will chase this up, even if I need to message the CEO myself.
I've never been more revolted and angry at a company before like I have right now with this one.

Avon had always been a good company in my opinion until more recently where they seem to be making a whole lot of bad decisions, making things almost impossible for their reps who have other jobs. It is losing its flexibility.
This needs seeing by upper management as this is a big issue to all reps who only put one order through a month and do not have time to do more than that.
Please can you start sending sale books with the campaign books instead of after the first order each campaign.
I am losing orders due to the fact that the sale books only come after I have placed my one order that month.
It is also a waste of paper as you are sending me these books when I no longer need them.
This is one change that is affecting sales in a bad way.
My customers are asking for sales books and not ordering as much because they have now not seen a sale book in 4 months!
My orders are now significantly down due to this and it is making me seriously and regrettably think about leaving this company and maybe moving over to one of your competitors

Missed an item out of my order. Quite simple to sort right? Erm no, apparently not! Nearly three months later, various emails and phone calls and Iâm STILL waiting for my refund. Really appalled by the handling of this and the time wasted on the phone and email trying to sort this out. I love Avon products but have no confidence in the company and will not be ordering again.
Slowest customer service I've ever come across
When I placed my order on 8 February I received a confirmation email. All good so far, but I had no way to track my order or look at order history as I'd checked out as a guest. I created an account after this. I emailed to inquire about this on the 11 February.
On 15 February, having received no reply to my original email, I received an automatic email to say my order had been dispatched. It said I could track my order via my account, but since it wasn't appearing there I had no way to track it. So I emailed again to ask for a tracking number.
My order arrived on the 17 February, so I no longer needed a tracking number, but it's still annoying that neither of my emails had been replied to.
Today, on 22 February, Avon has replied to the original email I sent on 11 February. They haven't said anything about why I couldn't get a tracking number, but confirmed it had been delivered (which I already know).
11 days to reply to a simple email to customer services is taking the mick. Avon really needs to speed up their customer care and look into why it can be difficult to get your tracking number.
My wife loves the presents I got her from Avon, but I doubt I'll bother ordering from the website directly again.

Poor delivery service
I ordered some bubble bath and shampoo on line because my usual rep was away. I couldn't track the parcel so I had no idea when it was coming. That wasn't too much of a problem, though inconvenient. When the package arrived (only a short time after I had placed the order), it was torn, and there was no internal packaging to prevent my items from being loose in the box. One of the bottles had leaked, leaving a wet, sticky residue all over the box and my other items. I've only just read the other comments on this site, or I would have been forwarned. I expected a better service from Avon. This type of service seems normal so I should be thankful I actually received my order and haven't been left out of pocket.

I am a rep of 6 years, when I started it seemed great. This last 2 years though have been absolutely horrendous. They've made so many changes, none of which have been any good.
They've just put up the goals so you can earn more. To earn a measley 25percent now you have to place an order of £250 or more. Stuff is constantly out of stock or charged but missing from box. Boxes arrive damaged. If you have a complaint you just get a generic reply. Even when I had a MOUSE jump out of my order box, I didn't get a reply let alone an apology. Also recharged for returned products lots of times and have to ring up to rectify it, spending 30+ minutes on hold is not fun.
I have also been a sales leader for just over a year, in that time customer services have spoken to be like crap, area managers have spoken to you like crap or ignored you, and I have had to appeal to get my rightful earning numerous times. Not once have I received an apology. So far my earnings for this month is 7 days late, 10 days since I sent my appeal to say it was wrong.
On paper I have earned more than I actually have. Book prices, delivery bag prices etc drive your earnings right down. Then god forbid a customer changes their mind and doesn't want their order - you can return it for free, but you don't earn from it anymore - and it happens quite often.

After TWO MONTHS waiting for my order worth over £30, I have still not received it, nor been given a refund. I have today googled for news of Avon, and read they are being taken over by LG H&H who are apparently paying $128 million dollars cash.....which rather suggests they could afford to refund me the money I've paid. I am so annoyed, that after years of buying Avon almost every month, I have now started to buy what I need in Boots and Body Shop. I think it's disgusting that Ive got neither my goods or a refund. DO NOT BUY AVON is my advice now.

I'd give less than one star if I could. Placed an order on the 5th of June for a few bits for my partner towards his fathers day stuff. Got a confirmation email and heard nothing since. I've tried contacting them and I'm getting nowhere. There still sending me emails getting me to try and buy other products and offering me free delivery but they haven't even emailed me about the stuff I'm owed and when that will be delivered. I just want my items or my £25 back. Absolute joke of a company.

My mum was a rep for over 40 years and not even recognised for her 40th year of loyalty. I have seen this company go from an old fantastic business in the seventies to a terrible current mess. They do not care for the older reps and charge for the silliest of things, even the paper order form that the older reps use who are unfamiliar with the internet. I have yet to have my full order delivered and have been waiting since xmas for my many "freebies" totalling more that £100.00! There is always something missing from the orders. Although I do use the products and enjoy browsing through the brochures, I feel that this company has gone downhill over the years and do not think it will get any better.
Disgraceful
Placed order 5 June and received confirmation. No further info until 2 weeks later when parcel was delivered with half the items missing, and a note from Avon saying they would refund the cost of the missing items to original payment method. Another 2 weeks gone and no refund. Understand they were cyber attacked, but they have not updated their generic reply email since 12 June and their call centre is closed. Totally unacceptable, particularly as their Web site remains open and they continue to accept orders and take payments. Avoid at all costs.

People I feel complain about mary kay or avon and we know why. But I must stress the diversity and the variety and the beauty when it comes to colors versus basic covergirl, drugstore cosmetics.
Remember these consultants get commission so time is money for them.
But I love the fact that this company incorporates skincare within its beauty regimen. Plus, you cannot beat its price point.

I have several friends and Family members who are Avon Reps/Customers and they have all come to the same conclusion that Avon has got progressively worse. They Invoice for items that have not yet been delivered, they then charge a £20 fee for a late payment, but bear in mind the late payment is for items not yet dispatched. They have become on the whole a terrible company. My Mum has been a Rep for over 30 years and she has NEVER had as many problems with Avon as she is having now. They are Awful
