Shame on a John Fowler hoildays ,booked a weekend away for the end of September,my friend has been diagnosed with cancer and unable to go ,and this company refuses to refund deposit even though insurance was paid ,as I was told when I booked that any unfortunate circumstance, I would be able to get a refund ,this is disgraceful making money out of serious illness, as they can resell this weekend,and not lose any money,we are pensioners and cannot afford to lose this money ,Disgusting customer service!!!!

We arrived at our caravan in Combe Martin in north Devon and the caravan was completely dirty in all rooms. There were bugs on the ceilings and thick cobwebs, the bathroom had a really strong smell of urine and was dirty - the bedroom had a really strong odour which also smelt vile!

We had to go around and clean it ourselves, we asked to move caravans however was informed that it was booked up and we couldn’t be moved! We were told not to touch anything that was dirty until the next day and they would get the cleaners back out to clean it.

Even after being cleaned it still wasn’t clean and the sofa was also covered in dog hair.

Really disappointing stay and will not be returning and would not recommend to anyone!

We have just arrived back from a family break at the Widemouth bay caravan park, absolutely fantastic, the minute you arrive we got booked in by a lovely blonde lady (she works along side Ben). Ben is so welcoming and very friendly, the cleaners are also friendly. The bar staff seemed lovely, the pool attendants were fantastic especially the young girl (think she was called Heidi. The security team are lovely, there is a very tall gentleman who is so friendly and the other man who I think is one of the managers for the security team very approachable and nice.Now getting onto the entertainment staff, Maddie, storm and Tommy were absolutely fantastic, there passion for the job and enthusiasm you can’t fault them, always had time to talk and amazing with the children, all your staff are a credit to your company, fantastic grounds and will be returning for the third time next year and I hope to see the same team of staff 😊

Got a last minute gold caravan after the hotel we originally booked was t up to our needs.
The caravan was immaculate and clean. The receptionist at the site in bude cornwall, think her name was Adele, bent over backwards to assist us and help with her local knowledge. She even helped me book a 5 day slot in their Somerset camp to take my 10 year old. Exceptional customer service

Arrived at the Tolroy Manor site expecting entertainment for a 3 year old and was very disappointed to discover there was none. Had to drive a couple of miles to sister site at Lelant every night. Very disappointing

Polperro has a new manager this year who seems to have a vendetta against existing owners?? He has banned the royal mail from delivering mail to our lodges and sends back mail return to sender if it arrives at reception including hospital appointments and medications. I have had parcels stolen that were left at reception so it certainly is not a safe place. I am now informed that he intends to shut off power this January!! sort of an update on Rachmanism of the 60s even though I have a contract allowing me to stay 11 months of the year
I'm 78 years of age and until covid19 I used to spend winter in California but since then I have been diagnosed as terminally ill with cancer and was given 3 months to live 2years ago with prostate cancer which has metastasised into my lungs, kidneys, lymph nodes and bones. It has currently split my pubic bone and femur meaning that I literally am walking on broken bones. He certainly knows how to put the knife in when you are at your lowest ebb. My palliative nurses and care providers are disgusted with their attitude. So any potential buyers of the 57 new lodges they have applied for planning permission for beware plus the fact the road will not support another 60 to 120 cars a day it's far too narrow and it is already a hazard.
Please if you care about people please pass on to anyone interested in buying a lodge or caravan here to see how your going to be treated

IF YOU DRINK THE WATER YOU WILL GET SICK!!

I WAS PUT IN HOSPITAL- DUE TO THIER NEGLIGENCE.

I was not informed as the manager feels he does not have a duty of care to guests who book through private owners!!

There is NOTHING on their website to warn you. And there were NO SIGNS in the park to warn guests!

They are only giving guests who book directly with them an A5 Flyer warning them NOT to DRINK THE TAP WATER.

AND IN EXTREMELY SMALL PRINT ADVISING GUESTS TO USE THE POOL AT THEIR OWN DISCRETION????

CRYPTOSPORIDIUM SPREADS IN SWIMMING POOLS AND IS CURRENTLY IN THIER TAP WATER.... HOW CAN THIS BE SAFE??

Just returned from a midweek 2 bed platinum hot tub lodge at Llanrhidian park. Absolutely beautiful, spotless Lodge with lots of extras included. Friendly, helpful staff and clean quiet camp. Would definitely recommend 100%.

Widemouth bay Caravan park
Great Caravan Park , stayed at this park several times. This time we had very noisy neighbours in the next caravan we reported this to the staff they sorted it out immediately. The staff are fantastic and very helpful.Caravans are always lovely & clean.The facilities are as described, Very Good

Killigarth manor- from arriving Saffy on reception was lovely and friendly. the staff at the shop were too. thank you.
we ate on site on the Saturday evening, cooked by Ryan. couldn't fault the food. hot, cooked and tasted lovely too. bar staff friendly and chatty. the caravan was spotless and we had a welcome box of essentials.
on Wednesday we decided to eat on site. unfortunately not Ryan this time. we ordered, then waited. 20 mins later someone rushed through and told the bar staff to let the customers (us) know he's sorry and will be on it straight away. my husbands lasagne and garlic bread had been microwaved, garlic bread not cooked properly, lasagne had been overheated in the microwave as it had hard meat at the bottom. I ordered a jacket potatoes with tuna and side salad. potato not heated up correctly and the side salad was a few lettuce leaves.i sent it back. 15 mins later, my hubby and mum had eaten. a guy came down with my plate of jacket potato and tuna. quite abrupt and rude telling me it was the tuna that had been in the fridge that had reduced the heat from the potato (utter rubbish). he apparently was the manager. needs customer service training!!!
apart from the Wednesday night palaver. we had a lovely stay here at Killigarth. not eaten here since nor will we. you pay for a microwave technician not a cook/chef...

All the staff at the holiday park could not have more helpful and dog friendlier.
Restaurant and bar including the staff warm, welcoming made a fuss of the dog ( which he loved)
Food and drink from site was big portions, good value for money
Reception were great in providing the information on local attractions, amenities'.
Local to Carbis bay and St ives.
Shower was a little on the poor side but it served the purpose.
Hint take , tongs, tea towel, Salt and Pepper bathroom floor mat/towel
Great value for money 2 bed silver chalet 2 adults with dog 7 night under £400
Well worth the 5/6 hour Journey from Kent so much we have rebooked for Sept 24 & April 25

We stayed at the beautiful caravan park at the end of may for the weekend. The site is very clean and staff friendly. We booked a gold caravan and I’d told them it was my 20th anniversary and also my birthday soon so we were going here to celebrate both of these. On arrival to our van I spotted something in the window it was 🎈. They had bought me cards but balloons around a bunch of flowers a cuddly toy and a bottle of Prosecco with two glasses 🥂 I nearly cried. What a fabulous gesture.
The van is very well equipped with lots of storage in all rooms mirrors and coat hooks.
An on suite and separate bathroom also a decking area with seating and patio doors. The kitchen had a microwave all the utensils you can think of and even a dish cloth tea towel and washing up liquid.
Everything was clean and fresh. We were situated at the top of the hill but it was still quite a short walk down between the vans to get to the entertainment. They have a crazy golf not very big but it’s free a tennis court table tennis pool snooker indoor and outdoor pools we didn’t manage to use those.
There is a small arcade in the entertainment area and a gift shop. The food was nice and not too expensive.
There’s lots of outdoor seating outside the Manor House where you can eat or drink while watching your children (if you have any) play in the park. Which is also fenced off. There is a shop on site and also a launderette. If I had one downside in the caravan, it would be that the bed was quite hard, but I just put a single duvet underneath the sheets to make it slightly softer. for the entertainment the weekend we went it was all about singing. They had a Robbie Williams impersonator in who wasn’t too bad then they had karaoke and another two singers. I just wish they could’ve had a comedian or games night but apart from that we had a fabulous day and would definitely be coming again as the last time we stayed here was 20 years ago, thank you John Fowler team Trelawne manor

If I could give No stars I would. After many years of booking with j fowler. This year I sadly had to cancel. I email them I was told I would lose deposit fair enough. They asked me if I would like to rebook any other day I said I might I said I want to cancel both caravan though they processed to take the money for both caravans out of my account and said I never cancelled. Needless to say I will never go again and now have to start a legal battle to get my money back

The accommodation was lovely, clean and well equipped. The staff were friendly. We stayed at Tolroy Manor for 4 nights over the half term. Stripey Kirsty was brilliant with the kids and Nathan, the life guard/ barman was great. All in all a fabulous break. Thank you to all the staff

I stayed at Combe Martin Beach Holiday Park last week after having stayed at Twitchen House at Woolacombe the week before and 4 days at Haven in Watchet the week before that. The first two were great and the I went to Fowlers at Combe Martin. Firstly after staying in silver accomodation over the years at various places, this wasn't a silver grade but a standard. The caravan was old and didn't have a kitchen sink plug. When I asked for one, they said that they didn't do kitchen sink plugs and that I would have to use a bowl. It didn't have that either so I had to ask for one, and it turned out to be an old scratched and used one. The caravan smelled of dogs so I assume they hoovered a doggy caravan before mine and spread all the dirty doggy spells over the carpet and seats. The site was up a hill and my caravan at the top. It just about killed me going up and down this hill, seeing I have a heart problem and severe arthritis in my hip. The club (well it wasn't a club but a bar) had entertainment of a solo singer on the saturday but I didn't go as I would have had to struggle up the hill afterwards. There were no resident entertainers, no quizzes, no karaoke. They had beat bingo for an hour 3 times a week and that was it. I didn't go as I felt that was an insult. Theplay area for kids was less than any standard council play area, with a double slide a sesaw and a springy thing. That was it. Only a couple of children stayed and the rest of the visitors were old people. The site was dead, not a proper holiday site. If I had wanted to stay in a place like that then I would have gone to Dartmoor. Also the cost of the holiday was £40 more than any of the other holidays and the other companies had everything including big acts and loads of entertainment for adults and kids and higher quality accomodation for less money. This wan't my first stay at a Fowler site, as I have been to Trelawn Manor and Widemouth bay over the previous 2 years, but I won't be staying at any more of their sites again. Total waste of money and ruined what was a three week holday away in 3 sites. After the first two were great, this was a big come-down. I left a day early as I couldn't stand the place.

We had a holiday booked, a very well deserved holiday that we were looking forward to. Unfortunately a close family member passed away and I approached John Fowler holidays to advise them that we would not be able to travel due to funeral arrangements. Although they tried to appear sympathetic they said there was nothing they could do, it was there terms and conditions and we should have taken out their insurance. I pleaded with them to see if we could change our holiday to a short break somewhere closer and less travel time, but they said no they could not do that. I have to just hope they mange to resell and will then maybe get some partial refund. I am very disappointed in the response from a hospitality and leisure company, I would expected better. Very upset!

Wow Burnham on sea has had a great makeover. More staff keeping the site so clean,even the shop had a makeover.the Shelley even had a make over.new outdoor TV viewing too.could not fault accommodation.it was do clean nothing out of place.cannot wait to go again thanks John fowler.and praise to your staff.

Will not be staying again!!!!
We upgraded and I dreading to think what the down grade was, our van wasn't clean hair everywhere 🤢 very outdated, food was questionable and expensive for what it was strimmer going off outside our bedroom window early very disappointed left after 2 night was meant to stay the week!

Just had a 7 night holiday in our Motorhome at Widemouth bay.
Left after 5 nights as the touring area was the worst we have ever seen in the many years we have been to the South West in our motorhome.
Roads on the site were very badly maintained with massive pot holes.
Grass area around pitches is very rutted as site has been used in the very heavy rain, and there seems to be no attempt to repair the ruts.
No place to empty grey water from van at the end of our stay, which surely is not allowed now.
The new toilet shower block had only one hook on the wall to put clothes etc on. There was no shower curtain so water sprayed direct onto clothes. We are in our late 70's and there were no seats /benches to sit on when drying ourselves or changing clothes.
We mentioned these issues to several staff and they seemed to just brush off our complaints.
We think that most of the staff were very genuine and friendly but had no authority to fix things.
Things to try and improve:
Flatten pitches
Repair roads and rutted grass areas
Provide proper motorhome drain off site
Sort out new toilet block
Get some senior Managers to inspect the site.

My car was damaged by maintenance. An accident, these things happen and I wasn't upset at the time. The staff on site were fantastic, the groundsman very apologetic. Then it gets awful. Senior management took days to contact me. I had to phone regularly to get updates. Was passed from pillar to post to finally be told two weeks after to go through the insurance of the site itself. Head office wiped their hands of it and now the only way to get it fixed is to get it done myself then try and claim the money back. I can't afford this or even the excess on my insurance to fix it and then claim it back!! I can't afford to do this. I firmly believe if I hadn't booked through The Sun on a cheap deal I may have been treated better. As it is I'm still here today trying to get my car fixed and sorted. Shocking behaviour from a multi million pound company!!!
As I said, staff on site were absolutely fantastic, the holiday stay itself was great ....just management and the inability to get my car fixed.
