Swift Go Great, Ford Terrible

I hired a Swift Voyager for 3 days from Swift at Livingston. The purpose of the hire was to see what a coach built motorhome was like to drive as I was thinking of changing from caravanning due to mobility issues. This was £500 well spent as I found the Ford execrable. It stood on my driveway for 2 days and I returned it early. It was a relief to get back into my Citroen. The staff at Livingston West Lothian were faultless however, being friendly and efficient.

Amazing Service During the Christmas Period

I ordered a new replacement steady for my caravan on Sunday evening on the 28th December. It arrived by Fedex on Tuesday 30th, securely packed and the correct Alko part number as ordered, at a very fair price too. Fitted easily and perfectly. Brilliant service at this time of the year when so many businesses shut up shop for a week or more!

Great Cars, Poor Backup

Reading all these reviews one thing stands out : Citroen UK management and staff are so incompetent that I fear they must have been recruited and placed by a competitor. As far as my own experience is concerned I have had 3 Citroens and found then all great cars - and reliable. My present C5X plug in hybrid is simply wonderful. The comfort of a limo, the carrying capacity of an estate, the speed of a grand tourer, and an absolute joy to own and drive. But guess what? Citroen axed this model - their best car- from the UK last year! (If you want one you buy one in France). As far as service goes the marque is also let down by its dealer network. I have however found Telfords of Carlisle above average, being a long established single marque dealer. Hope this helps to balance the record.

Have Gone Downhill

Amazon sub-contracts deliveries to drivers with rented vans in my area. The delivery times given rarely match the reality, sometimes arriving at 9 pm at night and sometimes next day. Prime is supposed to deliver next day not next night. There's also a huge turnover in drivers. Clearly they are being forced to work like coolies. I rarely see the same face after a week or so. It must be a terrible company to work for. No union, no rights.

Efficient and welcoming

This was my first visit to Motorpoint Edinburgh. It is accessed through a cul de sac with little traffic. Parking is excellent. Inside it is modern, spacious and welcoming. I had reserved a car for a test drive and it was waiting for me at the appointed time, as new, but thousands of pounds off the new price. Salesman Dougie was relaxed and allowed me a solo test drive without the distraction of a passenger, so I could assess the car, which was fantastic. Swiftly advised of a price to change. Offered paint treatment and cosmetic and alloy protection but no pressure to buy. When they said they would phone back they did so in 10 minutes. Recommended.

Amazon are going downhill

Amazon are going downhill. They used to use branded Fords in my area with onboard tracking. Now sub contracted to hire vans with no tracking. Recently had an order which was totally different from the thing I ordered. I don't watch Amazon TV but have to pay for it if I want next day delivery. If you want to speak to someone you can't as far as I am aware. Nevertheless I will continue to use Amazon for the range of products and return process.

Important prescription medication for…

Important prescription medication for my dog despatched Wednesday 24 hour tracked service. Post now past on Friday. Royal Mail seems to be getting worse all the time. The sooner it is taken back into public ownership like every other advanced country the better.

Very Satisfactory Click and Collect

In my 70's and the first time I've bought a car online. It caused me some anxiety not having an order form in front of me, but Curtis Dyson at Northwich Kia/Vauxhall and Hollie Dow at Edinburgh Seafield Fiat/Kia made the transaction very satisfactory. The car was perfect and in near new condition and saved me thousands. Most satisfied indeed.

Would Buy Again

Good sales and after sales experience at Mazda, Edinburgh Luxury Car Village. Expert mechanics and knowledgeable service consultant Callum know their onions. Having covered 16,000 almost trouble free and enjoyable miles in my CX30 I will most likely be a repeat customer. The only fault I had was the driver's door mirror sticking, but it sorted itself out. The 180 bhp engine is marvellous, the gearshift slick, the car well finished, comfortable and safe. The sunroof is great in summer and the heated steering wheel in winter. I replaced the Bose boot speaker with a space saver spare wheel. The DAB radio reception is poor in rural areas because there's no external aerial.UPDATE. Have bought a new CX30. February 2024

Great after sales experience.

Great after sales experience at Kimberley Darlington. The mechanic spotted a safety issue with my Swift Icon at its first habitation service and Vicki in after sales swiftly executed a warranty claim keeping me posted by email. Glad I made the trip last year from Scotland to buy the new Icon with its extra Kimberley equipment. It's proved to be a quality product at a fair price.

Good company to deal with online

I have been shopping online with WEX for many years. I find it a first class company. Recently I sold a camera to them after they valued it online. It's free delivery to them. They paid exactly what was valued online. Then I bought a second hand camera; again it was as described. The packaging is very secure and communication to WEX excellent. You can also speak to someone and they are friendly.

Broke at two years old.

Fridge freezer failed outside warranty. After 2 years the compressor became very noisy then 3 months later it stopped working altogether. Just after a large Sainsbury's delivery!

Faultless

I must thank Rohan for their repair service. They fitted a new zip to my 21 year old Icepak jacket giving it a new lease of life. I have used numerous Rohan products over the past 30 years and cannot fault any of them. It's a pity, however, that they discontinued the brass snap closures to shirts that were once available - so much quicker and more secure than buttons.

Recommended, despite a problem

Halfords saved my holiday when my battery went flat. The mechanic Imran was courteous, cheerful and efficient. But the Yuasa battery supplied was shorter than the O.E. So the nuts holding the battery retaining plate couldn't be tightened sufficiently; and Imran was 3/4hr late. However, I would recommend them for the service given and the fact that the new battery was mint.

Mazda Newbridge excellent

Mazda Newbridge have proved to be a first class company in my experience. They fitted a Mazda towbar and electrics to my car professionally and cheaper than towbar companies. A recent service was carried out by a master mechanic who also swapped wheels at my request at no charge and provided a video check. Friendly staff, dog friendly, good coffee, modern warm showroom. The on-site radio is a bit loud however.

Please Scrap the New Website!

I tried to book online on my tablet, smartphone and laptop. I am on a CCC site just now so cannot use my home PC. I just couldn't book. Having to click back 480 times month by month to get your date of birth is impossible. And why do you need your date of birth anyway? Previously you could breeze through the booking procedure no bot. You also once upon a time could see exactly how many pitches there were if like us you want a bit of space. Now it says LOW for low availability. What does that mean? One pitch? Ten pitches? Anyway I phoned up East Grinsted and a very polite lady booked me on. But that took 25 minutes!

What has happened to the Club

What has happened to the Club? Ever since its name was change to Caravan and Motorhome Club members have had one unnecessary change after another - and all ultimately costing members, as they after all are the main payers of the Club. Trustpilot seems to be the only place members can leave critical comments as Club Together is censored and the Magazine is sycophantic. The latest fiasco is the new website which is dreadful. Why after decades are we now asked for date of birth? To fill in your date of birth you cannot just put in 6 numbers, you have to keep clicking back month by month over the years! I tried to book a site yesterday and was on the web for 90 minutes before I got on the website. Then an error message came up and I was stuffed. Remember the data you submit is personal information supposed stored on the cloud, but the way this website worked I would not be surprised if it were a hackers' dream. They say that the new pay before you go system is to prevent members cancelling, but a lot can happen in family life in a few days never mind 3 weeks. I have cancelled in the past on a number of occasions for vital reasons. This should be a club not a money making operation run by accountants and marketing people. Please, please revert to the previous website as soon as possible!

Hi Bill, The system we are now using is the same as our overseas travel system, which required Dates of birth. They are only being stored in your booking, they are not linking to your membership outside of this. The only dates we need accurately is the children nearing 18 or 5yrs old, for pricing reasons. Can I ask that you tell us what device you are using? there are some tricks for using the calendars depending on device and operating system.
We are sincerely sorry for the inconvenience being caused with the implementation of our new booking system. Members and guests are able to make bookings through the new system however this is not the complete experience we have designed. ^ Jess

So far so good.

I bought my new caravan from Kimberley because they offer special editions with extra equipment and keep brand new vans for purchase rather than sell
every van as a demonstrator. Their stock is impressive and the location is easy to access with good parking. The round trip from Scotland of 250 miles was very worthwhile. Salesman David was helpful, friendly and knowledgeable, although he really should get a desk rather than a camping table! Handover expert Benson was a star performer. That is the sales experience. The true test is of course after-sales. One thing I would criticise is that they are not great at answering emails.
