Just had a horrible experience atâŠ
Just had a horrible experience at Allied pharmacy, Jordanthorpe. My repeat prescription was changed by GP and the pharmacy still gave me the old prescription. I paid for it then checked to see if it was the correct medication while still in the pharmacy. Upon realising it was wrong l gave it back to the pharmacist and explained that GP had sent new prescription. They denied having received the new medication prescription. I went back to the gp who confirmed having sent them the new prescription 3 weeks earlier, gp also gave me a bar code numbers to give the pharmacy. When l returned they searched their computer using the barcodes l gave then and following this they headed to shelve, picked a pack that was already packed and had my name on and this is despite the denying having my prescription earlier. They then demanded that l pay again. Told me that l had to pay for the wrong meds they gave me earlier which l had given back to them as well as the correct medication. Will have to go without medication for a whole month as l couldn't afford to pay twice.
A very good chemist!
I regularly use the pharmacy in Buckfastleigh and it is always a good experience!
The staff are friendly, professional and efficient. I am always greeted with smile regardless of which member of staff I am speaking to.
The pharmacy was previously a Boots chemist and there has been no drop off in customer service.
This Pharmacy is absolutely terrible
This Pharmacy is absolutely terrible, no customer care at all. They even give false names. An emergency prescription was arranged and they forgot to order the medicine. They left my son in agony . They should NOT allowed to serve with their uncaring abrupt attitude . I am currently taking it further.
Excellent Customer Service
In this day and age good Customer Service is a rare commodity in our ever shrinking retail industry. So what a pleasant experience both yesterday and today when I visited Allied Pharmacy,Layton,Blackpool. The staff were pleasant, helpful and a credit to Allied Pharmacies. Thank you very much and I wouldn't hesitate in using this branch again.
job application rejection then ignored
co. needs to be upfront if they only want someone who's done exact job before . but didn't driver who's been doing it for 20 years have a day one ?
Delivery Driver
it had all my details to know if i matched job description. i felt i did anyway . but i got auto-booked on to a session going round with the delivery driver to see what the job involved. as it seemed that it wasn't the car/location i would be using/working i decided not to bother driving . i drive so often it was nice just to shadow someone briefly. based on conversation with driver it's obvious i knew areas well and am used to visiting service users in present work . but got impression from the moment driver's (young) boss saw me he'd made up his mind i wasn't the person for the job .. and within half an hour an email had been sent saying that they effectively were looking for people with more experience of doing the job.
They knew my situation already prior to meeting them . why waste my time going . tho how do i get the experience, i could actually fall into the job very quickly . but not given chance. only gave 2 stars (rather than 1) as the driver i went out with was fine and maybe if up to him i'd have got it . tho maybe he was just going thru the motions too .
already tried to get response from them for feedback for any future applications (in sector) . but of course no reply.
Allied Pharmacy
Allied Pharmacy, Cholsey in Oxfordshire. My wife and I went here for a flu jab. As part of the process we had our blood pressure taken and mine was on the "high" side. A letter was subsequently sent to my Drs and I now have a follow up. Excellent service by the staff at Cholsey.
Unprofessional, Badly managed, And never apologise just make excuses.
They are arrogant and show no interest in providing good service. They will not give back your prescription after two months of waiting and even the items not in short supply are not available. Manager was just the same and they all appear to be past caring. Not good for those who need the service. I will not ever use them again.
Help Care & Understanding
Before i start i would just like to point out that i have conitive difficulties. Social Anxiety & Depression including Multiple Sclerosis . I have been using Allied Pharmacy in Kenfig Hill near Bridgend CF33 6BY .
This Pharmacy is so caring and understanding with all persons using it , but in my case due being so withdrawn etc .
At times can be extremely difficult when having to seek help or guidance or speak to a Pharmacist even .
The Alliance Pharmacy mentioned has exceptional staff there and I have spoke to most of them .
But more so in my case it has been a young lady on the front desk called Bethan , and a Pharmacist called Elinor .
Both are absolutely helpful and help in the best way possible! .
Many times Bethan has taken her time to deal with a request for me or pass me on to Elinor the Pharmacist who may then speak to me in a private room .
At times my social anxiety is quite high , but in the professional and capable hands of Elinor the Pharmacist she helps reassure and guide me in the right direction of treatment.
Or on the odd occasion tell me I have to speak to my GP again .
On occasions I know I must take up such valuable time , but I'm reassured and kept calm .
An OUTSTANDING PHARMACY with staff that really do care and help .
Thnkyou ALLIED PHARMACY .
Allied pharmacy
I wish to raise serious concerns regarding the conduct and business practices of Allied Pharmacy. In my experience, and in the experience of others within the local community, these practices appear unethical and deeply concerning.
Allied Pharmacy has strategically positioned itself adjacent to a GP practice and, in doing so, has developed an arrangement whereby its pharmacists work closely and directly with the GP surgery. Pharmacists employed by Allied Pharmacy are trained to encourage and facilitate the transfer of patientsâ prescriptions from their chosen pharmacies to Allied Pharmacy. This is presented as being âin the best interests of the patient,â yet in practice it appears to be primarily motivated by the desire to increase prescription volume and generate additional revenue.
Such conduct undermines patient choice and professional integrity. Patients are entitled to freely choose their pharmacy without pressure, influence, or covert redirection. Encouraging prescription switching under the guise of patient benefit, while the true objective is commercial gain, is not acceptable and raises serious ethical and regulatory concerns.
These practices have a particularly damaging impact on local independent pharmacies. Independent pharmacists do not have the scale, resources, or influence to challenge these arrangements when large numbers of patients are systematically transferred away. As a result, they are effectively silenced and placed at a significant disadvantage, despite often providing a more personal and community-focused service.
I am personally affected by this situation. I am a patient who has consistently chosen to use my local independent pharmacy. Despite this, my prescriptions were switched without my consent. I was later contacted by the GP surgery and encouraged to use Allied Pharmacy. I clearly stated that I wished to remain with my independent local pharmacist. However, despite this explicit instruction, my prescriptions were still sent to Allied Pharmacy.
This caused unnecessary distress and inconvenience, particularly as my independent pharmacist had already prepared my medication in good faith. This represents not only a failure to respect patient choice, but also a lack of professional courtesy and consideration for fellow healthcare professionals. They have taken over JHOOTs stores and then are opening them up; then poor pharmacist inside using there licenses to do unethical practices.
I believe pharmacists employed by Allied Pharmacy should be cautious and reflect carefully on the ethical implications of these practices. Professional standards require pharmacists to act in the best interests of patients, to respect patient autonomy, and to maintain trust in the profession. Practices that prioritise commercial expansion over ethical responsibility risk undermining that trust.
A formal complaint has been submitted to the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), and this matter is currently pending review. I hope that appropriate scrutiny is applied to ensure that professional standards are upheld and that patient choice and ethical conduct are properly protected.

Pharmacy doesn't care. Doesn't order the medicines in and says (come back tomorrow) here is an idea. Meet your deadlines.
Allied Pharmacy cop lane penwortham
This is regarding the Allied Pharmacy on Cop Lane Penwortham Preston (attached to St Maryâs Medical Center)
If I could rate this pharmacy less than a 1 I would. This is a pharmacy that used to be great and I never had any issues with, I would even recommend to friends and family. But recently itâs become the worst. Even with ordering repeat prescriptions a week in advance they are never ready for me to collect. Every week I am left to wait upwards of 30 minutes whilst they make up my prescription. There have been occasions where they have given me more tablets than on my prescription indicating a lack of basic numeracy skills. They often cannot âget holdâ of medication but do not think to inform me of this until a week later when I am there to pick them up. They then tell me that I should go to other pharmacyâs to see if they have the medication, but then wonât give me the paper prescription as that âhas other items on.â Asking me to go into the Drs surgery and ask them to change the prescription. Something which I believe should be their responsibility. Additionally no one ever answers the phone so I am unable to check my prescription is ready before I go to pick up. I have before been on hold for 45 minutes in âposition 1 in the queâ and still no one has answered. I am often left standing at the counter for sometimes 15 minute without anyone coming to serve me despite there being a bell. The pharmacist currently working there is very dismissive, patronising and is in no way willing to help or take ownership of any of these issues.
Always helpful
I would like to express my appreciation for the excellent service provided by my local pharmacy Allied Vero Terrace. The team are always efficient, professional, and courteous. My partner and I recently attended for our Covid and flu vaccinations, and the process was extremely well-organized and handled with great care. We are very pleased with the overall experience and grateful to the staff and management for maintaining such high standards of service.
Concerned Customer
This review is for the branch on Alverton Street, Penzance, Cornwall - 20/10/25
Firstly I would like to start with my utmost praise for the professionalism and helpfulness of the young lady that served me today. This young lady has served me in the past and has always shown total competence & compassion towards me and other customers that have also been in the pharmacy. There had been a mix up with my prescription, which it would seem was a technical issue from my surgery, certainly not an error of the very helpful staff's part, which the young lady in question was working hard to resolve (whilst also helping other customers at the same time, therefore not holding anyone up), multitasking brilliantly.
So, now on to my 'complaint/concern' !
Whilst all was going well, situation being resolved, the pharmasist appeared from the back and was totally unprofessional, belittling and quite frankly I think bullying toward the young girl, who, even though maintained full politeness and proffessionalism throughout I could tell was quite uncomfortable. Therefore my main reason for this review is her safety & wellbeing.
The pharmasist was quite blunt to me, basically telling me to sort this situation our myself!
I'm not sure is this is a platform I should be writing this but didn't know who to contact and certainly didn't want any further dealings with the pharmasist myself.
Cholsey pharmacy
The staff at the cholsey branch have been consistently wonderful, quick and efficient service in getting prescriptions ready. If I ever have an issue or query, the staff are more than happy to assist. A big thank you to the staff for being so incredibly helpful.
Improving every visit, thank you
Collected my prescription today and although very busy they were helping customers very quickly, they genuinely seem to improve with time, especially with the text service. Its so good and refreshing to see these improvements when most other High street big names are getting worse.

Terrible service at Buntingford allied pharmacy
Buntingford allied pharmacy - i will not return! Very disappointed in the poor customer service. I took my poorly baby in with a rash and asked to speak directly with the pharmacist. The girl at the counter asked me for details in the middle of the shop, not allowing me any privacy. She relayed the information to the pharmacist who refused to speak with me or even glance at my baby. No advice at all given. Just fobbed off and told to go to the GP - surely this is what the pharmacist is meant to deal with: minor ailments to take the pressure off already overloaded GP practices?! Uncaring attitude and bad service. I have moved all my family's prescriptions to the other pharmacy on the high street after this incident.
We don't know how fortunate we really are
We take for granted that the services we receive are a given, many services fall under the radar and are not given the recognition they deserve. I can only give the highest recommendation to the Queensway Pharmacy in Gainsborough. Whenever I have had a telephone conversation nothing has been too much trouble served with courtesy, compassion and professionalism. My medication is always delivered promptly and with a smile. Well done to all of you and thank you.
