Pleasant experience
Quality of staff and furnishing on display. Layout of shop was ideal for browsing and we were not being pressured by staff. However, when we did require help the staff, Richie and Richard were extremely helpful and knowledgeable.. No hesitation in recommending Sterling to anyone looking for furniture.

We were attended to by Finlay Barrow, polite, knowledgeable, very helpful, no pressure salesman. He gave us as much time as we needed to look around, ask questions, try various seats, we had a short walk around and decided to deal, all completed easily, recommended.

⁹I ordered and paid £1,883.15 in full for a sofa on 31 December 2025, six months before delivery. Unfortunately, from the day it arrived I had concerns about its finish and appearance. This resulted in two upholsterer inspections, lengthy waits for reports and months of correspondence. The first inspection concluded there were no faults, which completely undermined my confidence in both the process and the product.
I ultimately requested a refund, not because that was what I wanted, but because I had lost all confidence after giving Sterling Home every opportunity to resolve my concerns.
Sterling Home promotes itself as a retailer of quality products backed by quality customer service. Regrettably, neither reflected my experience. The final goodwill gesture offered specifically in recognition of everything that had happened amounted to £47.08, which I did not feel fairly reflected the time, inconvenience and disappointment this experience caused.
I cannot recommend Sterling Home based on my own disappointing and stressful experience.

Personal attention was spot on and not too pushy, just right.
Special mention to Lauren Grant who looked after us very well. She certainly knew her stuff and was able to advise in a very professional, friendly and respectful way. Felt she was there to help us rather than push a sale.

Knowledgeable staff who were helpful
Knowledgeable staff who were helpful, friendly and approachable, without being forceful or imposing. We visited a few times to make sure the sofa was the right one for us and we were able to speak to the same salesperson (Matthew) each time and this was helpful and made the transaction flow smoothly. We were able to discuss delivery dates that suited us. Overall it was an easy and pleasant transaction.

Both the manager and the sales rep Scott Jarvie were attentive, efficient and highly professional in assisting us with purchasing all furnishings for a new 2 bedroom home. I was particularly impressed with Scott’s knowledge and the accuracy with which he captured a complex order first time.

Poor aftersales service, expensive sofa broke quickly.
Really disappointed in aftersales service. I paid almost £2k for a two seater electric recliner. About 10 months later it stopped working, stuck in the up position, annoyingly. After much back and forth a technician is coming out to look at it - i reported the fault 13th June and the technician will be out 12th August. An entire month with sofa stuck up is pretty poor service, especially for what they bill as a luxury reliable product. Two stars because staff in the shop are helpful but afterservice has been poor and the product itself very quick to breakdown.
Edit - Sterling have replied to say that they are waiting for parts. This is wrong, the parts have been delivered to my house already. Frankly, customer service doesnt seem to know whats going on.

We also understand how inconvenient it has been to have your furniture not functioning properly. We can see that a visit from the inspector was arranged quickly however, we are waiting on the replacement parts which is causing this disappointing delay.
Whilst we're pleased to hear that our showroom team have been helpful and supportive, we have taken your comments regarding the after sales service on board and we understand your frustration at having to wait on the parts. This is not the level of service we aim to provide, and we apologise for the inconvenience caused.
We appreciate your patience while this matter is being resolved and hope that the technician's visit on 12 August with the parts will allow us to have your chair working fully again.
