Mis-sold a car warranty.

When our manufacturer warranty expired on our Peugeot e208 EV we signed up for the ALA extended warranty. We chose the most expensive Platinum option to ensure we got the best cover. The car broke down and the problem was diagnosed as an ABS wiring loom. ALA rejected the claim as wiring isn't covered. This is an electric vehicle so anything that is likely to go wrong is going to involve wiring! We feel we've been mis-sold a policy that doesn't cover our vehicle. Over £550 wasted over 2 years. I note that ALA now have a warranty for EVs but this wasn't available when we signed up.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that you have been unhappy with your experience and appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback.
Following your review, a member of our team contacted you to discuss the matter and to look into your concerns. As explained during that conversation, you held two separate one-year extended warranty policies with us. The first policy ran for its full term without any claims being made and expired as expected.
When you later renewed the policy and subsequently made a claim, the issue was diagnosed as a wiring loom fault. Under the terms and conditions of the policy in place at the time, wiring and wiring looms are listed as excluded components, which is why the claim was declined.
However, as a gesture of goodwill and to acknowledge your concerns, we refunded the premium for the second policy associated with the declined claim when we spoke with you. As the first policy had run its full term and provided the cover purchased during that period, and no issues or claims arose during that time, we were unfortunately unable to refund that earlier policy.
We understand your comments regarding EV-specific cover. As the market evolves we continue to review and update our products, and we have since introduced warranty options designed specifically for electric vehicles.
We are sorry that on this occasion the outcome has not met your expectations, but we do appreciate you taking the time to speak with us and share your feedback.
