Simply Great. Whilst I have been a customer for many years, this is my first review. My principal impression and observation is one of confidence and appreciation for the quality and professionalism of the staff and team. Boots policy on investing and training of its personnel, particularly of younger graduates is heartening. Their help, service, guidance and support was 1st Class. I would particularly wish to thank Matt my optometrist, other colleagues, Ann and Jasmin who undertook further testing, and finally young Cassidy, who was joyful, kind with a wonderful manner; her professionalism, personality, patience and maturity were beyond her years. She had the ordeal of helping me to choose the windows to my world. They all deserve to be mentioned in despatches. Well done team, well done Boots for enabling their growth and development. They should be congratulated for their continued commitment to the welfare, well-being and development of its human resources. They are the business's greatest asset and unsung heroes. I was delighted and feel honoured by the experience. Definitely, a tick in the proverbial box. I have no hesitation in offering my heartfelt recommendation. Thank you. The young man Harris who helped me to select my new spectacle frame was the most polite and helpful! He managed to help me out with everything I required with my glasses and is a diamond! You will go far in your chosen professsion young man and thank you.

I visited the Mill Lane, Solihull, branch to purchase a new pair of prescription sunglasses. David helped select a new pair and advised the lens options to me. David also assisted by adjusting some other new glasses that I had purchased recently. I was very pleased with the service and assistance provided - David was very efficient and knowledgable.

The online optician appointment booking system is substandard indeed.
I booked TWO online appointments and only for ONE the confirmation was sent to me?
So that meant that:
- I spent 2 hours of my morning trying to get hold of the Ilford store without success - as always.
- Then I had to email customer service: no response
- Then I called the customer service number and they told me that they are unable to send me an email / message confirmation for BOTH appointments?!
Why not?! What’s the rationale for that??

Been going to boots in for a few years now .
I went to see them about my glasses being scratched, so I made a claim on the insurance they convinced m e to take out 11 months previously . They said they will replace them but the contract is only for the old prescription. That ridiculous , as I am due an eye test in 2 weeks . I went to tell them and they literally just tried to blank me and laughed smugly. Then a little guy came out and stood there like a child laughing and acting like the weasel he was.
So if you have any sense do not use Boots opticians and definitely DO NOT TAKE OUT INSURANCE. It’s a SCAM

I don't like negative reviews but have to relay my experience today as it's left me very annoyed.
I was due an appointment at the Leicester Fosse Park store today but, owing to pressure of work, realised I was going to miss the time. I tried to call the store direct to explain but my calls were not answered. I therefore called the booking line in my appointment confirmation and spoke to a helpful assistant who arranged a new appointment only 40 minutes later. I therefore left home straight away to drive the 20 minutes to the store.
On arrival I was greeted and told to take a seat in the waiting area. The only other occupants were a couple, who soon went into adjoining rooms for their examinations, leaving me alone. At no point during this period, or the next 15 minutes, did anyone speak to me.
I was then approached by a member of staff, who informed me I was early for my 3.40pm appointment. I showed her my booking confirmation and she then realised I was not the patient she was expecting, who had the same forename as me. She then said I should not have been offered the 2.50pm appointment as one of the opticians had phoned in sick and it was not therefore available. I said I could wait but, despite there being a clear 30 minutes before the next patient was due at 3.40pm, she told me I could not be seen and I was forced to leave. I am not a moaner but I cannot abide having my time wasted - it was obvious the young woman in question was not prepared to be flexible in any way or to offer me a solution, even after I told her I had taken time off work to attend.
This comes on the back of my only previous experience of trying to use your Opticians service. On that occasion, at your central Leicester store, the optician refused to carry out an eye examination as I am a Type One Diabetic and had suffered a hypoglycaemic attack in the previous 24 hours.
This seemed reasonable at the time, but I have now had two visits to Boots Opticians and still haven't had an eye examination!
I will not be rebooking.

Wow! I went into Boots, Street, Somerset today to collect my new glasses resulting from an eye test at Boots in Wells.
I cannot express too much how delighted I am with my new glasses - I can see really well again now. No more double vision either sideways or vertically. I was often seeing four of everything all merged together!
Not any more! Everything is now brilliantly clear!
When I first put them on I couldn't believe how clear everything was. Things I hadn't been able to see for ages were now easy and clear to see.
Thank you very much everybody at Boots in both Street and Wells.
I most thoroughly recommend Boots Opticians.

Been for eye test at Boots in Barnsley today and saw Almas who did an excellent job of testing my eyes and explained everything thoroughly and simply. Simon (assistant manager) talked me through all the different options in eyewear and helped me choose 2 new frames. Highly recommend. This is the second year I’ve been here and have told family and friends. Will carry on using this service. A big thank you😊

Went into the Muswell Hill branch to have a prescription checked and a second opinion. Good thing I did as there was a difference that was causing issues. Amazing optician, Anusha (?), did a comprehensive and thorough examination, and all the ladies in the showroom were friendly and professional, patient and kind. Everyone was lovely and I came away really happy. Purchased some reading glasses and will go back again for my two-yearly check. Thank you 🙏

I took my elderly Mam to Boots Opticians in Penrith 11/3/26 for an eye test. We had excellent service from Emma,Daphne,Serge and Mariyam.
Very friendly and professional through out our visit.

I arranged an appointment for 11-10 so turned
Nice and early.
As the time approached I enquired about the
Time and was then told there is about 25 minutes wait.
I was not told this when I first booked in
I was sitting there for 25 minutes before my appointment and nobody bothered to let me know.
So I told them not to bother . As a New Customer at the least I would have expected some courtesy.

Two reasons for this review: 1. I have had double vision for two years. William Harvey Hospital said I could have Prism glasses but my eyes would get worse if I used them, so don't wear them. Then they discharged me. The Optician at Boots said that was rubbish and that all the squinting, straining and headaches were caused by me not wearing prism glasses. Boots supplied prism glasses and my eyes are 100% better. It is complete relief. 2. Having been so pleased with the new glasses, I chose any old frame. After a week, and being told that I look like an old lady, I went back to Boots and asked to change the frame. They accepted my request instantly, no questions asked. A brilliant service. I'm a very satisfied customer.

I took my 92 year old father- in -law to Boots on Clifton Moor for his glasses,he was immediately put at ease by Megan she explained everything to him,she was kind and polite,an absolute credit to your company.

I have just been served by your Optician Reema and Customer Service Assistant Lily at your Clifton Moor, York branch. What a super experience from beginning to end.
Initially welcomed at reception, my contact lens annual check was carried out by optician Reema, who was charming, reassuring, professional and gave me some very helpful advice to put into practice.
Finally the lovely Lily looked after my purchase of contact lens solution and eye drops. What an asset she is to Boots. She is one the friendliest, brightest shop assistants I have met in years, with a natural ability to put you at ease. She was so friendly and easy to chat to and she brightened up my day. Thank you Lily, I hope I see you again sometime and also thank you Boots for employing someone with such wonderful customer service skills.

I just wanted to let you know about the awful experience I have had at your branch in Southampton Above Bar.
I booked online for an appointment for Friday 6th March @ 16:15hrs
On entering the branch a browsed the displays whist 3 staff member held a discussion with a lady customer.
I stood at the desk for some time before a snooty lady asked if she could help whist looking down her nose.
I said politely I had an appointment and was just point at some chairs and told to sit. the same lady did my pre test check with the same attituded.
The optician was very nice and professional and made me feel at ease.
After the examination I was returned to the same lady and told to brows the selection and pointed toward with Boots own budget friendly selection.
Asking about a particular part of Tom Ford frame that I had seen in a previous visit and the reason I come to this branch.
I was told "Boots don't do Tom Ford, I must of seen them in vision express" so I informed he that I had seen this on your website that very morning.
With a comment of we don't get many customers looking at our high end frames much, she looked at the Boot website and found a lovely pair she liked.
But she attitude completely change knowing I was not maybe their normal demographic and became very helpful.
This was more shocking as a customer with a £50 or £300 budget should be treated the same.
Very quickly I was deciding between Montblanc or Ralph Lauren pair. the RF Polo pair was chosen.
I decided the purchase one new pair and reglazes a pair of Oakley Pitchman coming to £340.00 for 2 single vision glasses.
On checkout I was told that the glasses I had chosen were discontinued and the pair in the branch would need to be send away with my reglaze pair.
liking the glasses but not wanting to pay full price for a display pair I asked for a discount and 10% was agreed.
Unfortunately no management was available to sign off the discount and was asked if I could come back, not a problem was my partner and I was going to a gig that night and staying in a hotel overnight and I couple pop back in the morning.
One my return the next day, sadly I was told their was no manager available again to sign off the discount and they would have to call me and take a payment over the phone on Monday.
I did not receive any calls on Monday from Boots and finally did get a call @ 14:45hrs Tuesday afternoon.
By this time I had looked online and to my amazement I found the same Ralph Lauren frames for £69.00 and not £190.00 boots was changing. so no brainer I was not going to order from Boots.
I was going to get Boots to reglaze my Oakley's as planned.
When the branch called me, I explained that because they had not called me I have some spare time on my hands and looked online finding them at a better price.
I this point the attitude completely changed again and she barked at me "when did your want to pick up your other glasses" I did explain that i still wanted my glasses reglazed, but i will collect and go elsewhere.
I have used this branch for 38 years when ever I lived in Southampton and my step mother even worked at this branch before retiring .
She will be shocked at the level of poor customer services.
The change in attituded from several members of staff was awful, I did not get the names of those individuals, but I will say that Louis and Natalie were helpful and professional, spoilt by the others.
I will try and collect my other frames this week, but don't expect a good reaction.
