I am almost never disapointed when I shop for hardware items at the Nanaimo BC Hardware. For example today I needed a very unusual plumbing fitting that I did not think I would be able to get so I asked Wayne for assistance and he very quickly located the exact item in the very well stocked plumbing department.

Went to Home Hardware at Adelaide and Huron in London this morning to buy some salt. Struggled to get 2 bags to the cashier. After ringing me through the very nice and polite cashier asked if I would like help taking purchase to my car. I agreed. She paged a representative to front for a "Carry out". We waited. She then paged asking for help with a "Carry out" again. We waited longer. I carried one bag to my truck, 5 parking spaces from store front. I went back into store to retrieve my second bag. As I was leaving a fairly young, fat, man sauntered slowly toward to check out. I shot him a dirty look and proceeded out the door. I am a senior citizen with physical and health issues. I was NOT impressed. The nice young girl at the check out was polite and considerate. She offered to carry the bags out. Being an older man that is not the way we do things. Will I return to this store? Not sure. It is hit and miss with this store if you will receive good customer service. The owner is fantastic, his staff yes and no.

Dear Mr. Moquin,
We used to love going to Home Hardware, mostly because it is a Canadian store and the staff is usually friendly and helpful.
We purchased 6 boxes of vinyl plank flooring for our porch on Nov 5/21 which cost $449.38. Unfortunately we were one board short.
My husband went to your store to ask if he could purchase 1 board from the open box on display. He was told no even when he asked to speak to the manager.
It wasn’t like we were asking him to open a new box as this box was open and actually one of the boards was damaged so couldn’t be sold as a whole box.
We were very disappointed that we had to purchase a new box at the cost of $74.90 for just one board.
Not very good customer service and therefore we will not be shopping in your store again.

Unreliable service for snowblower repair. Called & set up time to have snowblower picked up. Made a special trip from cottage to have snowblower ready to go. They were a no show and did not call to say they couldn't do it. Called and was told it would be next day which didn't work for me. Very unreliable.

We have purchased a lot of product from this store over the years. We are firm believers in shopping locally, and the owner and employees in that store are great. With Covid, it had become necessary to shop and order on line if possible, and ‘If possible’ is the key term here. They have no app, and the on line shopping site is a nightmare. It never was good, but now it just keeps jumping to “choose your store” ….. After choosing, it keeps flipping back to the same thing…it’s stuck in a loop, and is completely useless. I couldn’t even complain on the site….it kept flipping back to “choose your store”… We recently spent many hundreds elsewhere because of this. We like to shop and compare, and of course the ease of purchasing is huge. If they don’t create a decent on-line shopping app, Home Hardware is destined to die, and that would be just plain sad.
Refusing to refund me after giving my order to someone else!
I ordered a reel lawn mower and ended up waiting almost two weeks for it to arrive. I managed to source one elsewhere in the meantime with next day delivery so planned to cancel the order for a refund. When I went to do so I was told the order had been collected! Turns out that the store handed the order to my neighbour, WITHOUT my permission and has billed me! So now I’m out the money, don’t have the item and the whole time fighting to get MY money back I’m being treated like I’m trying to commit fraud! What’s the point in having processes in place such as requiring ID if you’re just going to hand my order to the first person that knows my name? I no longer trust this company and will never return to any of its stores. The fact that this has happened in the first place is bad enough but to argue even when there’s someone else’s signature on the collection, NOT mine is absolutely unacceptable. I should not be penalized for one of your staff members making this mistake and the fact they’re keeping my money is out right theft.
Very disappointed with the Bayfield…
Very disappointed with the Bayfield Store in Barrie. Phoned the manager on three different days, left a message each day. The manager never returned my calls. And when I finally received my e-mail to say my order was ready for pick up. They were not very friendly when I collected my order. Will never deal with this store again. I will use Minet's Point Store instead
They don't really care if you get item…
They don't really care if you get item defective or damaged.it's better I buy it from dollarama both don't care about damaged product but at least dollarama is cheap in price compared to home hardware.
