No more online shopping with Decathlon
I ordered a percussion massage gun online and received it on Tuesday of this week. I opened it carefully (as I like to keep original boxes) and checked it and it was way too powerful. It was very painful actually as I tried it on my clothed forearm. I put it back in box immediately and contacted online customer service.
They will not allow me to return it as they said ‘its was opened and used’
I though I had rights as an online customer for a product that does not suit.
Actually they have come back to me now and agreed to take back the appliance!
I would never buy anything online from them again though as I would be too nervous of been stuck with it if it didnt fit or suit!
Customer service is abysmal.
I purchased a trail camera which stopped working within a couple of weeks. It was letting in water and was actually beginning to rust inside. I contacted Decathlon and they sent me a label to return the camera. I emailed them three weeks after posting it and received a terse reply that it can take 15-20 working days to access the claim. Heard nothing for 6 weeks. When I emailed again I was told a refund was being issued. I can't help believing that if I had not contacted them the refund would never have been issued. Refund received with a cursory apology. Would not do business again with this company.
Haven't even got my product yet
Haven't even got my product yet. But already I have been waiting a month and been told when it does arrive that it has already been damaged in transit.

Avoid and do not beleive nay timeframes on their site.
Excellent customer service- Tray Loftus
I called into Decatlon in Ballymun today and I met Tray Loftus. Tray was very helpful in assisting me with his excellent product knowledge. Tray made the customer experience very easy and enjoyable and is an excellent ambassador for Decathlon Ireland. Definitely will be back again as a result.

we bought a bike for our child in Novemeber. First of all the bike brakes were on the incorrect side. The Bike brake then broke (on kids first trial out). my wife then sent an email asking for a replacement which she paid for. We then paid for the replacement and Decatalon sent out the incorrect part for the bike. we then contacted them to get them to send out the correct part. they then sent us an email to start the process all over again as part of a query. They Customer care person kayleigh has obviously not experienced and then when they got an email back she could not answer the query so it started all over again.
Kind Of Disappointed, but they sell great products at the end of the day.
I love decathlon and I think they are great, I usually buy from them in store and all the products they sell are great.
I recently ordered online and they left the security tag on the shoe..... So I had to return it, they were really efficient with getting me the return label and everything so that was good I guess.
I ordered again something else, and then they cancelled a item from my order, idk if they will replace it with a different color like I asked, or they'll tell me to order again and pay for deliver again, but I'll update this post when they do.
Update: They gave me a gift card to cover the delivery :D
Didn’t give me my refund
Sent items back to be refunded. I received an email to say the items had been received by the company. I still hadn’t received my items a month later and was told there was no record of them being received. I never got my refund back even though I sent them screenshots of the email that confirmed the items to be refunded had been received by them
Terrible online delivery service
Terrible online delivery service. Be prepared to wait over a month without communication and all for the extortionate price of €50. If this was flagged at time of purchase I wouldn't have gone ahead with the transaction.
Absolutely appalling - never use click and collect
Absolutely appalling. Do not use their click and collect service. My God, it is woeful. Communication is clear as mud. Initial email told me my order would be ready for collection by X date. I went in to collect it. They said it hadn't been received from overseas yet and I was supposed to wait for a confirmation email to confirm the item was ready for collection. Nowhere in any correspondence from them did it state you had to wait until a 'ready for collection' email, and the email I had clearly states the item would be ready for collection by X date. When I raised this with the staff member, she just shrugged her shoulders and said 'yeah that's something we should fix'. Absoutely shocking. To make it worse, they had the items in store and I asked for one of those to save me a return trip and I was told no, that I had to wait. One of the worst customer service experiences I've had anywhere. Would really make me think again about buying from here.
Faulty air mattress
Sprained my hand trying to deflate a faulty air bed. Expected more. The second staff member I talked to was more helpful, but I still need to drive the bed back to Decathalon (don't live in Dublin) and now foot a physio bill.
Awful company
Awful company. Click and collect ordered on 27th Nov due for collection 17th dec. After seeing here how bad their delivery service is i lost faith. After 7 working days and no movement on the ridiculous tracking system I contacted them. I was told its actually in transit. 17th came so contacted again to be told theres a delay, wouldn't be due till the 22nd. On the 20th I got an email to say, due to the bad weather my shipment wouldn't arrive till between 24th-31st. (There was no bad weather anywhere here or in Europe) I cancelled the order went to smyths instead for replacement Christmas present. 27th i get told my order is ready for collection. Idiots didn't process my cancellation or refund. 4 emails later , 2 weeks after my initial request, I recieve confirmation of my cancellation. 1 week later I get my refund. Never shopping there again and advise everyone else not to either.
Formal complaint for unsatisfactory service
Our order has not arrived that was due on 2nd December for our son’s birthday.
The courier service used by Decathlon eventually delivered part of our order on 22nd December after multiple no show delivery dates.
We are missing half our order and customer service now informed us it won’t be until after Christmas when we receive it.
We placed the order on 14th November with plenty of time for it to arrive for our son’s birthday and now it isn’t even here on time for Christmas either.
I have had to chase both Decathalon and the courier service Vanex constantly and am highly disappointed and unsatisfied that they have not resolved the issue and had the delivery arrive on time. The order cost almost €600 with a €50 delivery charge.
I will not be shopping with Decathlon again and have referred a complaint to the CCPC for both them and their courier service.

Decathlon have to be the wost company ever to deal it. Ordered items with them 26th November and paid €49.99 for delivery. After numerous email I eventually received delivery this morning to discover 1 box out of 3 were delivered. So my daughter now will only receive part of her Xmas present. I will never purchase anything from them again.
Very Disappointing Experience at Decathlon Limerick
Very disappointing experience at Decathlon Limerick. I bought a Grey Hybrid Bike 120 Series (Second Life) on 17th Dec for €145 and collected it on 18th Dec. After riding it, I realised it has no suspension, which was not explained by staff. When I returned to the store almost immediately, the manager told me that even if the bike is taken out of the store for 1 second, it won’t be considered for a proper refund and offered only €58. As this felt extremely unfair, I kept the bike with me. This kind of business practice feels focused on profit rather than customer fairness. Poor product guidance and customer service.
Unprofessional service and non trustworthy people in Ballymun store
Bought this bike from Bally mun store and must say a very very bad choice. Firstly Ballymun store made it extremely cumbersome & difficult to place a order under Bike To Work Scheme. They just did not know what they are doing. Secondly the bike that was delivered was a broken one despite asking them to double check everything before delivering. There was a checklist on the bike with all boxed ticked for finals check performed by their 'so called' expert. While the bike worked , i could see the brake levers were positioned very badly-one on the upper side and other downward. The tail lamp cover fell off on first ride and the battery was draining in no time. When I took the battery out for charging noticed that the battery was incorrect (should have been 417wh while they sent me 250wh). I wrote back to Ballymun store and they confirmed it was incorrect & their error (all these after the boxes were checked for quality. For Decathlon Ballymun store, checking the boxes for quality is just a form over substance). They agreed to replace the old battery with new one asking me to wait for 2 weeks (as they do not hold stock of spare battery and have to place an order with their battery vendor). I patiently waited and after not being intimated for two weeks, I wrote back to them asking or an update. They replied that my new battery has arrived and they would ship it soon to me. I asked them to keep the original seal intact to make sure that it is indeed a "new" battery and they are not sending me an 'Used' battery from another bike. They replied indeed its a battery from another bike but it is new. At this point I completely lost trust and said I want to return my bike as they seemed completely unprofessional. They declined to accept return and then said just a sorry for 'lying' to me that new battery from the vendor has arrived. They asked me to wait for several more weeks if I need a brand new battery from vendor (as they do not know when will it arrive). I had to finally accept the used battery for a new bike (which Im unsure is new) and also not sure if the motor and other parts are genuine. After all of this, they did not even have a courtesy to call me and talk over the phone. Im really disappointed for having dealt with Decathlon Ballymun store. I will never ever again deal with Ballymun store. Will also escalate this to their central/ head office .
Decathlon Delivery service and customer care
What a joke.
I have been trying to deal with the customer service and they have not been helpfull at all.
My delivery was due on the 4th of December and I have been mailing them almost everyday since with no satisfaction I requested this to be escalated to a manager several times and requested a call back which again was ignored
Recently I only got an email from a supervisor and was hoping they could help but again no help.
This is a santa present and I'm due to have two very upset children come Christmas morning.
I have asked can I go and collect the table myself multiple time and again. Just ignored.
Never had such bad service
And after trying to put the exact review on there website. I got a mail back to say it was refused and removed.

Ordered a Dining Table/Pool table…
Ordered a Dining Table/Pool table online on 18th November worth €389 with €49.99 delivery - bulk delivery so requires Vanex Logistics who it seems are incapable of providing any online tracking information - that should have been the red flag but I really wanted the item. Was showing delivery date of 9th Dec online which is 15 working days - is this item coming from the Moon?!??
I contacted customer "service" on 7th when I didnt have any notification on delivery, tracking number etc. to see whether delivery would be taking place on the 9th and was told there is a delay because of logistics but they are actively tracking my order BUT unable to give me a tracking number or delivery date - its ok though, the delivery partners are prioritising deliveries ... eh ... HOW? Responded again on 9th December asking for any idea of delivery date ... nothing .. no response ... Steer Well clear of this company they are awful!!
I've now been told that delivery will be on "either the 15th or 16th of Dec" and the delivery company (Vanex) will contact me on the day with a time - Logistically, this means someone staying home for 2 days on the off chance that the item is delivered - this is lunacy!!!
I have emailed the CEO of Decathlon, CEO of Decathlon UK & Ireland and every customer service email address available to try to get the most BASIC of information ... when will the product that I paid money for be delivered?!??!?!?! I also linked them to their Trustpilot pages - the number of customers with issues makes it clear this isnt "over-reacting" customers due to the time of year - this is sustained customer complaints for over a year.
As before, unless delivery does happen on EITHER of those 2 dates as I have taken time off work to be home, I'm considering this theft and doing a chargeback on payment!

Delivery didnt happen on 15th Dec despite someone being home. Delivery didnt happen on 16th Decmber despite someone being home. On afternoon of16th December I received an email saying that delivery would happen on 17th Dec between 10.30am and 12.30pm.
I got up this morning to 2 emails from Vanex Logistics ...
Email 1: 7:13am stated that delivery would be around 10.42am
Email 2: 7:23am delivery has failed at 7:16am ... no reason why ... just failed
Remarkably - I received a link to a tracker for my delivery from Vanex which told me my delivery was status "undelivered" due to being unavailable.
Apoplectic with anger I emailed Vanex and multiple Decathlon people asking what the hell has happened, no one showed up at 7:16am, I have proof of my Ring Camera.
I received an email from Vanex saying that delivery failed because of a "loading error" and that they were organizing their "run" for next week and would be in contact with a new delivery date!!
I do not believe there is a "loading error" ... I do believe that Decathlon have used the cheapest company they can find to do deliveries, that limit insurance costs for bulk items and that there was only 1 person at the Van to load my item and he wasnt able to do so himself so 10 minutes after getting the route confirmed he marked it as undeliverable.
I cannot tell you how much you should stay away from this company and its awful delivery service! Please do yourself a massive favour and buy from a reputable retailer as this lot do not operate in good faith.
Next step is a full refund and small claims court for 3 days loss of earnings!
Further update - like others in reviews below, I gave up and organized a replacement from another company that was delivered within 3 days!!
I have been palmed off and given platitudes by Customer Service since I started engaging with them on 7th December.
They finally agreed to a refund on around 19th December but the comedy continued ...
Despite me confirming I wished a refund they tried to deliver on Monday 22nd when no-one was home!!! I got NO notification on delivery until the morning of 22nd December.
These folks are an absolute joke!
Its now 7th January and I am still fighting for a refund and compensation!!!
How do I hate decathlon...let me count the ways...
Bought a treadmill run500 on black Friday deal. Worked once and then all power went from the machine. Contacted technical support in UK who were very responsive and advised could arrange a collection and replacement. Now over 6 weeks later still no collection. If I deal with Irish customer support it is by email and they defer the matter to their external collection service Vanex. If the agent I deal with is away, then there is no-one to follow up. Ridiculously poor customer service. Never going to buy from that store again.
Update: Following this review, got contacted by Vanex to arrange collection on a Friday and then driver rings late Friday evening and says 'sorry, no space in his van, will try again on Tuesday' That has come and gone.
Main issues I have found customer support with decathlon non existent - feels like you are being handled by a robot, no means of escalation, they don't want to do a refund but would rather do a replacement, they outsource their deliveries and pick up to this really useless crowd called vanex, so as a consumer you are really stuck. I think its best to avoid this crowd and stick with stores with better customer support.
