If you’re looking for a company to buy your garden cabin from - look no further! Johnsons offer high quality products with first class customer service, this is my second experience having purchased a cabin for a previous property, it’s no wonder they are still going strong 8 years later, the Thurrock show room is well stocked and the help I received from Michelle in the office went beyond my expectations, thank you! Looking forward to using my new space 🏡

From the outset Zac at the Gosport site was really great with a very positive attitude and claimed me down when he visited. The communication. Throughout was exceptional from him to. The lads that erected the building were brilliant and worked so fast as did the electrician. The eye for detail was amazing. The final painting took some time due to bad weather but over a week we had painted it to the required standard. We love our new chill out room now it is full of furniture etc.

I was passing by and the so called owner of ‘Johnson’s Garden Rooms’ on the premises of Alver Valley Garden Centre in Gosport, was very rude and condescending over a personal conversation that he’d overheard, so there’s no way I’m shopping there.

From start to finish the service, product and build was excellent, thoroughly impressed with Zak (who couldn’t do enough to help) and the build crew were superb, would highly recommend a 1st class product from a first class company.

We purchased a Vancouver Compact, back in October 2024. We delayed the build of the structure to be sure of better weather in Spring 2025. We visited the dealership several times from the time of purchase to delivery, to ask questions as we didn’t feel that we were given all the information we needed. The information we were given, is that the whole process will take 2 days, but his is not the case. The build took more than two weeks to be completed.
There were three other trades involved, in addition to the initial build: plasterers, electricians and climate control. All on different dates, with a need to allow gaps between them (3 days between plasterer and electrician). We knew nothing of this prior to the start of the build. We had three different companies phoning for dates, all lof which had to be in a specific order.
We had a painter pre-booked to paint the structure, but had to re-book him for a week later, due to the additional trades we knew nothing about.
We also had issues over the quality of the build. After a few weeks, a gap appeared at the back of the structure, so sunlight was shining through where the joists meet the roof. We complained and although this was fixed (apparently temporarily) a bigger gap appeared a few months later which required a more permanent fixing, with additional wood being added to close the gap that had appeared. We have also had problems with the doors not closing. We received instruction on how to adjust the doors but this was not easy, and we ended up paying an independent carpenter to adjust the doors, so we could close them fully.
In summary; the information given by the sales team was incorrect. Regardless of how many times questions were asked, we still received the same information, that the build would be completed in two days. We would not recommend Johnsons to friends or family.

Constructive and solution focused site evaluation. Harlow site easy to get to and staff on site to discuss any questions arising.

We have just ordered our garden building. Michelle and the team at Thurrock have been really helpful. Henry was really good with advice on the site survey and other choices. Looking forward to the project completion.

We’ve been really impressed with the whole process so far. Natalie has been incredibly helpful and endlessly patient — especially while my husband and I debated every last detail! Henry came out for a site visit in very wet conditions, was knowledgeable, practical, and helped us focus on the decisions that really mattered. We’re very happy with how everything’s been handled by the Thurrock branch and are really looking forward to the installation.

Michelle was very friendly, professional and helpful. She was very patient and helpful as we made our decisions and later as we added to our plan. We were not able to use the new payment process as we did not have online banking on our phone and later we struggled as we had a limit on our account, however, Michelle spent a long time making sure everything went through safely and correctly. We were very pleased with the way we were dealt with, nothing was too much trouble. Thank you.

Our garden room is complete and we love it! We’ve had a top class service from Michelle, Polly & Natalie from the start till the finish.
Henry was very helpful when he came to visit our home.
Thurrock showroom is a lovely site and we highly recommend visiting.

Staff are very friendly and welcoming, was greeted by a woman named Michelle she was very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable.
Natalie explained the process very thoroughly and we are looking forward to purchasing our garden room soon.

I’ve had a great experience so far with the Thurrock branch while arranging my garden room. Jon and Michelle have both been really helpful, friendly, and professional throughout the sales process. They answered all my questions clearly and made everything feel straightforward and well organised. Communication has been excellent, and I feel confident I chose the right company. Really lovely team to deal with!

We went to visit Johnsons Garden Centre in Chestfield on the Thanet Way.
It was very interesting, they had everything except plants. Not one anywhere.
The cafe was excellent. Food lovely and disabled toilets very clean. One or two rusty hand rails could do with repainting otherwise I would give it a 8 out of 10.

Visited the Thurrock show room today and the help and advice you received from the 2 lovely ladies in the office Michelle & Natalie has really helped to decide which cabin would best suit the space i have. So I am going home with my free bag brochure they gave me to discuss with my better half.

I have recently purchased a garden cabin from the Thurrock Display Village. Natalie, Michelle and Polly have provided an incredible friendly service, helping with every step of our purchase from our initial visit to The Village to the home site visit which was carried out by the manager Henry (who was very informative and helpful) I am looking forward to the installation and our summer events in the garden. Unfortunately, my experience with Johnson’s Garden Building Services has been extremely disappointing. Customer service and communication were poor throughout. Despite clearly advising that I was on holiday and happy to deal with matters on my return, I was repeatedly contacted and chased for payment and installation date confirmation, which unnecessarily disturbed my time away.

The quality of the building materials used was well below what was promised during initial discussions. As a result, I have had to repair and resolve several issues myself—problems that should not have occurred had the materials been of a better quality.

The finished work failed to meet the standard and quality that were discussed and expected. Overall, the service did not reflect what was advertised or agreed.

The only positive part of this experience was the two builders on site, who worked hard and were very polite and professional throughout the project. Unfortunately, this does not outweigh the overall poor experience, and I would not recommend this company based on my experience.

From the first visit to the Thurrock showroom, to the survey and placing an order has just been such a pleasurable experience working with the team. Can't wait for it to be installed.

I recently purchased a garden office and had the pleasure of dealing with Michelle, Polly and Natalie throughout the process. From the initial quotes to two separate site surveys over the course of a year, their support was absolutely brilliant.
They were always responsive, professional and genuinely helpful. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble. Communication was clear and timely, and they made what could have been a stressful experience feel smooth and well managed.
A special mention to Henry, who carried out the surveys and gave some really helpful advice. He clearly knew his stuff and took the time to explain things properly, which made a big difference.
Thanks again to the team for making this such a positive experience. I’d highly recommend them.
